I have been staying at the Circle-R for a number of years on numerous fishing trips with my son,friends and often by myself. It is like a home away from home. Lee and Pam are the nicest couple you could know. Yes, the place is dated, but in response to some complaints about the quality of stay, I would like to say that life and making a living in a place like Salida is challenging at best and they try very hard to do the best they can for themselves and their guests. I could stay at nicer places, but at what cost? I look forward to having a beer again with Lee come next Spring. Thanks...Doug from Lakewood

I stayed here one time when I was driving from Durango to Denver. My room had hardwood floors. It didn't feel like one of those stupid chain motels; but, it was very clean and affordable.

I'll stay there again the next chance I get. There are a lot of really cool attractions around salida.

Just returned from a trip to Colorado, and enjoyed the rafting and ziplining in Royal Gorge and Salida, but this hotel did not meet my expectations. Yes, it was clean, but old and worn out as other reviewers have noted, and overpriced at $95 (including taxes). Definitely has not changed since the 1950's. The nicest parts are the florescent sign and the blue lights over the hot tub.

... A great hotel and the owners were so friendly.. (jokes were free) Loved Lee's sense of humor and the hospitality was wonderful. We only stayed one night and wished we could've stayed another night. Lee gave us some good fishing tips that were really helpful. The room was so clean and quiet. Want to return and take friends and family so we can have time to hot tub next trip. A great location and I just love Salida.
