Our daughter was getting married at the Red Rocks Chapel, and booked our stay at The Cliff House Lodge which was 3 minutes away. We had never been to Colorado, and never stayed at a bed and breakfast, but enjoyed every minute! Our cottage was the Dino Den which was very private and had it's own hot tub in the front patio, a kitchen, dining area, living room, and 2 bedrooms, a soaking tub in the bathroom, and a shower. Kathy managed our stay, and was delightful and generous, and Samuel made sure we had fresh hot tub water, a clean patio, and fresh linens. Anything we needed, they were happy to help. The check-in office was comfy with books and movies to borrow, and opened up to a big wood floor room with floor to ceiling windows and leather sofas and tables and chair settees that reminded us of a cozy Lodge. The Cliff House Lodge featured local artists, and had lovely and exciting original area art on it's walls for beauty and for purchase. Being 5 minutes away from the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, a stream, park and small river, as well as the Morrison Dinosaur Museum, the Lodge is a perfect location. The town of Morrison is quaint and is festive with visitors enjoying the mountain enclave with charming shops and local flavor. It is not far from Golden, Lakewood and Denver, but you feel as if you have discovered a gem. Wildflowers, birds, amazing red rock formations you can see from your lodge, as well as hanging geranium pots, sculptures tucked in amongst the landscaping, and the fresh smell of pine trees make you want to stay forever.
