“Clean, quaint, great views and location”

Stayed here two nights and have no complaints. Great to be able to park right at your door. Room with one queen bed was clean, spacious, big bathroom. Bed was comfortable, wi-fi worked good, view from window was of snow capped Pikes Peak..perfect! Staff was friendly and the restaurants they recommended were good...Savellis Italian and Uncle Sam's Pancake House; both within walking distance. Got Subway sandwiches one evening and went across the street to the nice City Park to eat. Close to Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak which is what brought us to this area. Stayed here during "off season" so it was quiet, no neighbors on either side; during this off season breakfast was danish and muffins which was fine for one of the mornings. Could hear some street traffic in the mornings, but nothing that distracting since we were ready to get up to see the sights. Price was very reasonable and would stay here again. A very nice "mom and pop" type motel which provides clean and basic needs.

“Beautiful Morning View”

I wasn't sure about booking this hotel for our girl’s vacation but it came recommended so I did. Yes it's an older hotel but the view of Pike's Peak each morning and evening was fantastic! From the other side of the hotel you had a view of Kissing Camels in Garden of the Gods. Across the street is a nice little park for the kids to play. I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it. There was a great Italian restaurant within walking distance that we ate at a couple nights. The rooms were clean and well stocked. The staff was great and the price was less expensive than those “brand name” hotels. If you’re going to experience a family vacation for sightseeing of the area this is your hotel. It’s a local family owned and operated business, so in keeping with the times, book with them on your next vacation.

Room Tip: We stayed on the side looking west and had a view of Pike's Peak every day.

“Clean but only okay”

This is an old motel with small sparce rooms. It was very clean but old tiny rooms. It is in a great location but so are all the other motels in the area. The management was pleasant and helpful but next time I'll spend a little more for a few more amenities.

“What we expected - great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We stayed at the Silver Saddle for four nights. Based on the reviews on Trip Advisor we knew what to expect and that is what we got. We had requested a king size bed with a mini fridge and microwave and they were able to accomodate us. The room and bathroom were small but workable for two people. I had brought ear plugs in case of street noise, but didn't end of needing them only because the air conditioning was so loud when it kicked on that it drowned out any other noise. I think this is pretty typical of the wall units in any hotel though. The bed seemed comfortable enough, but both my husband and I would wake up around 5am every morning with our lower backs aching and unable to get back to sleep. The breakfast was good...waffles, bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, OJ, etc. Everything was fresh and tasted good. The location of the Silver Saddle was great. Right by Garden of the Gods, the COG railway up Pikes Peak and easy access to get every where we wanted to go. It was a 20 minute walk to downtown at a fairly good pace so it would have been nice to be a little closer. The weather was great though so we didn't mind the walk especially since the public lot was a pay lot. We didn't use the pool although we saw other people in it. The sign says the pool is heated, but it felt a bit cool to us to be able to use it at night when the sun went down. I don't have any true complaints, but I am a little curious why the Silver Saddle is the number one motel in Manitou. There seem to be several places with the same kind of feel and some even advertised cheaper rates or looked to be more updated. We were very glad we stayed in Manitou though, instead of Colorado Springs.
