My two dogs & I stayed here while we were competing in a dog agility event at the county fairgrounds. We had a one bedroom suite.
As you entered the suite, the kitchen was on the right. It was quite nice. There was a full-size refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and a little stove with two burners. The cabinets were stocked with items (plates, wine glasses, cups, silverware, etc.) appropriate for a family of four. There were a couple of pans and some microwave cooking containers. Items in the drawers included a bottle opener and corkscrew. There was also a little cutting board. It would certainly be posssible to cook a simple meal here. The kitchen had small amounts of tea & coffee. There was dishwasher detergent and dishwashing liquid.
Continuing into the suite, you came to the living area. It included a desk, loveseat, chair, two tables, TV, and gas fireplace. There’s a breakfast bar with two stools separating the kitchen and living areas.
The bathroom was large with a generous sink/vanity area. There was a padded chair under the vanity. There were three mirrors in the bathroom – wall, full-length, and magnified makeup. The bathroom also had a hairdryer. There were plenty of thick towels.
The bedroom was average-sized with a comfortable king size bed, two dressers, a closet (holding an iron & ironing board), two nightstands, alarm clock, and television.
Lighting throughout the suite was plentiful. It was prettily decorated, and the furnishings were all in good condition. The suite was spotlessly clean. The high-speed wireless connection came right up without any problems.
There was a laundry room on the floor, and use of the washer & dryer were free of charge. Also free was the hot breakfast served each morning. Breakfast included several types of hot & cold cereal, 2% and skim milk, juices, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, toast & bagels, coffee & tea. The French toast wasn’t terrific (dry and cold), but the sausage was perfectly cooked and hot.
Outside, there was a swimming pool & hot tub (closed for the winter), and a court shared by both basketball hoops & a tennis net. There were several gas grills and picnic tables directly behind the hotel. There were lots of places for walking the dogs. The hotel does charge a refundable $50 pet deposit. But, they don’t charge a nightly fee for pets.
If you want to stay in Longmont, the location can’t be beat! A shopping mall, movie theater, grocery store, pet store, many other stores (including Wal-Mart & Target), and LOTS of restaurants are within walking distance or a brief drive. The hotel is about ¼ mile from the Boulder County Fairgrounds. It’s about 7 miles from I 25 and 10 miles from Boulder.
Other than the French Toast, the only negatives I can come up with are local phone calls (50 cents per call) and limited number of television channels. I REALLY liked this hotel. In fact, I have reservations to stay there again when I’m in Longmont next month
