We picked this hotel because it allows dogs. However, when I made the reservation, I was a bit skeptical because the guy who took my reservation didn't want my credit card number because he was too busy, but said he would save us a room. He was a tad rude on the phone, but I chalked it up to him being busy as he stated. When we arrived a couple of hours later, the man at the front desk (I believe this was a different man, he was older with a pot belly & grey hair) said that we did have a room reserved, but we had to pay the $20 pet fee in cash. I was quite surprised and when questioned, he said it had to be cash. The guy on the phone never said anything about cash. Not wanting to look for another hotel at that hour, I paid and when I got my check-in receipt, the pet fee was not on it. He said that it would be on my exit receipt. Skeptical, but tired, we went to our room. The room was fine. Nothing at all wrong with it or the hotel. Matter of fact, the breakfast was great & the housekeeping even appeared happy. I decided to check out in person because of the cash payment the night prior. When I spoke to the clerk, he was quite surprised that the night clerk (who told me he wasn't getting off until 7am the next morning) made us pay in cash. Not only was the pet fee not included in our receipt, but the night clerk didn't even put us in a pet room! Seems to me he was keeping the cash. I discussed it with the morning clerk & he was deeply concerned. Hopefully the clerk will have lost his job because he is really discrediting the entire hotel.
