The Best Western in Lakewood lived up to our expectations of the Best Western chain. The hotel was clean and the grounds were attractive. Since we travel with our small dog, the hotel was great for us since it is located off a busy street with lots of dog walking opportunties readily available (and no fee for the dog). The place is a little worn as all places of its age and continued use are, but was clean and comfortable. We got a suite with living room and separate bedroom each with a large tv and a huge bathroom area with two sinks for the price we usually pay for just a king room. My only complaint was that you could hear lots of noise from the rooms upstairs over our room. Lots of kids there for the weekend due to a hockey tournament and they appeared to be running back and forth in the upstairs hallways.
The bedding was of good quality and the minifrig and microwave were used a couple of times. The "breakfast" was the standard Best Western fare which is just fine for a quick meal before shopping or hitting the road. All in all, the place was a real gem for us and our dog. I would highly recommend it to others needing a nice place to base out of when visiting Denver and especially for folks traveling with their furry friends.

Dollar for dollar, way better than the Fairfield by Marriott on 6th Avenue in Lakewood. Although the TV was not a flat screen (who comes to a hotel to watch TV!) the cleanliness and friendly hospitality kept my stay in memory if and when I come back to Denver.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, close to stores, malls, outlets and good location to access mountain area and denver area with a low budget.

For our stay in July 2011, we reserved the room in December 2010 on the BW website: 1 King, 1 Double and 1 Sofabed. Upon arrival, they explained that these rooms are actually suites with 1 King and 1 double Sofabed. So we were very disappointed, since we paid a high price for it. We were 4 persons and the Sofabed was not even ready. So after a 14 hours flights, this was too much. We asked for a roll-out bed and they brought it (rather quickly) but the room became very small and it was difficult to walk.
Furthermore, the room (suite !) is probably just larger than other rooms but nothing special. Would need a refurbishement. Very bad isolation, you here very well the noise of the street and of the swimming pool.
There are a lot of other hotels in the area, I would not go back to that BW.
