Super location for us, only a short walk to ski lift, (Condo 8262) which was a key feature for us. Good news, condo faced the parking lot so we didn't get any of the noise from "downtown" keystone stores or nightlife (bad news is that snow plows started early, but that wasn't really an issue for us). Owner was very helpful in answering questions via both email and phone (though condo is listed for sale so this may change). Condo was well outfitted, kitchen was very complete (even had things like foil, plastic wrap, condiments, etc.) to include dishes/pans/utensils, etc. We cooked breakfast each day and several dinners without any problems.

Condo on fourth floor, close to elevators; heated, close in parking directly below was convenient (we only used the car once to ski Breck one day). Good location for ski lockers downstairs so we didn't have to haul them up and down. There was a bit of an issue with kids running up and down the hall into the later evening hours, but not much to do since there isn't a "front desk".

Condo had free wifi, which was critical for getting daily news as the TV network (Dish) didn't carry any the normal national or local networks or weather, Condo was good size for just the two of us, but would have been a little crowded with anyone else as the storage is limited and it was tough to stowe our ski kit bags, etc. neatly. There is a DVD player and we had brought some of our favorites so that gave us a good option for other viewing.

The two things we didn't care for were the bed and the bathroom appliances. The bed was a QS (we measured to be sure) but felt much smaller; we did not get a single good night's sleep the five nights we were there. The bathroom sink was abnormally low so that even at only 5'4" I had to really bend over to use it and then continued to hit my head on the shelf right above it. Only mention this in that if you are really tall, this could really be unpleasant.

We have just come back from staying at the Silver Mill Lodge in Keystone. The condo we stayed in was Unit 8262 and it was just wonderful. The condo had everything we needed in it, from clean linen to all the utensils we needed in the kitchen. Our children stayed in the pull out sofa bed which they just loved and thought was very comfortable. The owners were extremely helpful with any questions I had and this was greatly appreciated. The location was excellent, so close to all the cafes and shops and most importantly such a close walk to the gondola. The lodge was just lovely and we really appreciated having full enclosed, heated parking as when we arrived in Keystone it was freezing. We would thoroughly recommend this condo and lodge as somewhere to stay in Keystone and we would stay there again!!

My husband and I stay at Silver Mill a few times a year, both alone and with our family. We happen to stay in the same unit every time we come (unit 8262; or under unit 21218 on VRBO). We have stayed in this unit at least twice a year for 7 years and are never disappointed! We recently came for our fall visit (from Atlanta) and were pleasantly surprised by the updated remodeling. The lobby and common areas have new paint, tile, carpet, and furniture. Unit 8262 has also been updated with new appliances, furniture (including a great sofa sleeper), paint, and carpet. I can not say enough wonderful things about our time and stay at Silver Mill. We travel extensively throughout the world and have come back year after year to Keystone and Silver Mill. We also consider unit 8262 our 'second home'! The easy access to the ski lifts and gondola, great restaurants and shops, kid friendly atmosphere, and picturesque scenery will keep us coming back for years to come.

I stayed at The Silver Mill at River Run in Keystone, Colorado last Friday and Saturday nights, August 1st and 2nd, 2008. My stay was, beyond a doubt, the most miserable stay I have ever had anywhere in my 52 years.

The entire building was dreadfully HOT!!! The unit I stayed in was hotter than anywhere else in the building. The building is a ski condo with no air conditioning. The weather, even in the mountains, gets HOT in the summer. In order to make the condo look more like an authentic silver mine the building is completely surrounded by sheet metal, a tremendous heat conductor!!! We were on the top floor of a 5 floor complex. I can certainly attest to the fact that heat does, in fact, RISE!!!

The mattress on the fold out sofa in the living room was so incredibly thin that my children couldn’t sleep on it as the springs were sticking in their backs. They had to lay the cushions out on the floor which, while uncomfortable, was far preferable to sleeping on the bed.

The push-up sky-light window on the ceiling in the bedroom needed to be open due to the intense heat. However, when opened, the window acts as a conduit for noise from the bar on the ground level. The noise bounces off the window on the ceiling and down into the bedroom, making it seem as though those talking in the bar 5 floors below were sitting there in the bed right next to us.

The TV in the bedroom is in a very nice TV cabinet. The problem is you can't see the TV from the bed through the cabinet door, which must be opened in order to see the TV! There wasn't even one chair in the bedroom so the bed was the only place you could watch the TV from, if only you could see it unless, of course, you chose to stand!

I might also complain about an early 10 AM check out time. However, in this case, I couldn’t get out of that condo fast enough!!!!
