I prepaid to stay at this Extended Stay through a travel site called Rovia (great prices but NOT recommended due to lack of customer service). Rovia books through hotels.com who books with the hotel, hence part of the problem. What they didn't mention anywhere in our reservation confirmation is that the lobby is closed from 11pm to 7am. My flight didn't even land until after 11pm. So after finally getting there, it's really hard to find and not well marked at ALL, it's 2am and the door is locked. There is not sign saying "For after hours check-in ..." Yes, there was a phone box, but no instructions so since even the shadiest hotel I've stayed at had at least the lobby opened and a sign on the front desk about who to ring to check in, I had no idea how to check in. I tried to call Rovia (was on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up), then tried to call Hotels.com who also had no one I could talk to at that time of night. There was no phone number for the hotel on the reservation either so I couldn't call them. There was also another pair of gentlemen who were wondering about wondering how to check in as well. Needless to say, we left and found another hotel. When I called to get a refund, they gave me the run around. They lied to Hotels.com and said there was a sign out front so Hotels.com refused to give me a refund. When I tried to get a refund directly from the hotel, the manager Jeremy said their is a sign that is put out each night when the last desk person goes off duty and didn't believe me when I told him there was no sign. It isn't rocket science to figure out you should put a permanent sign out front instead of some temporary one each night. This is when he basically tried to tell me I should have known because standard procedure for after hours check in is to pick up the phone and dial 0. Being I've never stayed at a hotel that is too cheap to keep someone at the front desk 24 hours, or at least someone who sleeps in a back room connected to the front desk area and can hear the bell be rung when a customer comes in, how was I supposed to know this. I never got my refund and will NEVER STAY at an Extended Stay America or book through Hotels.com or Rovia ever again!! BEWARE TO ALL!!
My husband spent the night here on 8/14/11 and 8/15/11. The first night they gave him a room with stains all over the sheets and no working lock on the door. It was late but they moved hime to another room. He was only there for a few hours and worked two very long days. He noticed feeling itchy and on 8/16/11 after getting to the room at 10:00 at night, he saw tiny little black bugs all over the bed. He said it looked like pieces of loose tobacco until he saw them move. We had to throw away his personal pillows, wash all of his clothing and throw away the luggage.
All we asked of the hotel was to get it sprayed and refund the nights he did not sleep there. They did check him out on the 17th but refused to even refund the 16th, the night he discovered the bugs. The manager, Jeremy, stated he did not see any bugs and asked us to provide proof through pictures. DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL GET BITTEN!
The only good thing about this hotel is it's location. It's very convenient to just about everything on the south side of Denver.
However, the bad aspects are overwhelming, making this a lousy hotel. It's dirty, noisy, and run-down. Cleaning service is only once a week, and it's terrible. The windows don't open. The wireless (fee) wireless internet is constantly going down, requiring you to re-enter your credentials to get connected. And the internet is dreadfully slow when it does work. The bed doesn't come with a blanket - just a sheet and (dirty) cover. Broken-down cars and trailers in the parking lot make the place appear pretty bad, too.
My advice would be to pass on this place.
The price was good at $42/night for minimum 7 days. The room was clean. There was hot water. Service was good. Very easy on and off of I-25. Those are the good points. It was obvious the place used to be pretty nice, but that was in the past. Furniture and carpet was worn and needed replacing. The wall heater was very noisy and cycled a lot. The shower was very weak. The fellow residents were not exactly the cream of the crop in social standing, and pretty noisy, possibly scary. There were not enough utensils to make a TV dinner in the kitchenette. The TV only got about 15 channels, and only one local channel. The ceiling had a very large patch poorly done. Overall kinda mangy, but like I said at least it was clean. They comped me the internet, which was nice. It is normally $4/stay, which is cheap anyway.
