“gtreat if you have dogs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

They have a delightful courtyard and some rooms open right unto them , this was great for my dogs , open the door even in the middle of the night and wallah , dogs are safe in the enclosed courtyard , weekend prices are super low , I stayed here every time in Denver because there is an awesome dog park just 3 miles away

Room Tip: if u have dogs get a room that opens to the coutyard

“BEWARE!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

On TWO recent stays at this La Quinta we did NOT receive room service for one day of our stay. Both times we got this explanation by the Front Desk ~~ We are understaffed. This is not satisfactory for an excuse or explanation of no service. I will not book there again because I don't need the frustration of wondering each and every day of my stay there if when I return to my room I will find it neat and tidy - OR - still messy....no clean towels, no shampoo, unmade bed, trash in wastepaper baskets, no replaced coffee packets for morning coffee, etc. etc. Lots of other hotels to choose from in this area, thank goodness!!

“Kafka & the Fire Alarm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

As a minimum at a hotel stay, I expect a lack of excitement. If excitement is unavoidable then I expect a crisp, professional response from hotel management and staff. I was disappointed on both counts.

Shortly before 9 AM on October 10th the fire alarm went off. I went into the hall to see if there was smoke or fire. We waited for a call through the telephone system and none came so I called the Front Desk. I was told by the Front Desk it was a system error and they were trying to figure out how to shut it off and that we could stay put.

We then continued to get ready to check out. I went looking for the luggage cart. When I exited the room (we had a room at the end of the hall), I found the people in the room next to ours and the one across the hall in the hallway. I told them what the Front Desk told me & they went back into their rooms.

I took the elevator down to the first floor (it had not been locked off). I found the cart at the nearest exit to the elevator. When I was rolling the luggage cart to the elevator a member of staff told me the hotel was to be evacuated. I told him what the Front Desk told me. He started to argue with me and asked where the Front Desk had gotten the information. I suggested he ask the Front Desk because I was just repeating I was told.

I told him that I had repeated what the Front Desk told me to the room across the and next to mine. I informed him that I had to go back to the room since my room mate did not know we had to evacuate. I suggested he give correct information to the other two rooms. I told him that I might a credibility problem since I had given the original information & I was only a guest and he on the other hand is staff.

He followed me into the stairwell & I exited on my floor, the 2nd and he continued up the stairs. By the time my room mate quickly dressed the alarm was off.

We checked out shortly after so I went to the Front Desk to tell them we were out of 251. I did not yell but I said in a loud, measured voice (so I could be heard in the breakfast area, which was full) that, “I am not happy. An apology is not enough.”

The Front Desk clerk didn’t say anything but looked down and smiled (bordering on a smirk). I then said, “I wasn’t expecting an apology but, I fail to see what you find humorous about the situation.” Seeing she had not written or typed anything I repeated, “We are out of 251”. She was still smiling, so I shook my head in a negative way, turned my back and left.

Room Tip: Ask for a low floor & close to the stairs.

“Good but can be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

My wife and I stay there few days ago. We choose it because the location.Even when I book it in advance, they deliver a microwave and refrigerator once we were in the room, both need cleaning, something that I notice later.I did the cleaning myself, but I wonder why the Front Desk or the deliver man don't put attention. On our last day I complaint to the Front Desk and she told me that the man was not an employee there(?!) she apologize.
The A/C unit was very noisy, hard to use at night, we were on the third floor. The elevator looks run down and need a hand to make it look nicer.
The TV options are very poor, we were unable to see any good program, limited channels.
Overall our stay was good but they need to put attention to some details, like extending the time for breakfast.
I forgot a book and they secure it for me, and recovered later.

Room Tip: probably ask them to see the room first, and check the A/C for noise. We have a room with mountains...

“Friendly and clean hotel near Denver”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

We stayed here 1 night after a stay in Boulder. Needed 1 night close enough to Denver to do a few things before a flight. Room was about $60 incl taxes. Rooms are very spacious with a nice desk and brand new 42" flat panel TVs with DirecTV. We had room 248 first, but the TV didn't work and it was right on the highway side of the property. They moved us to 241, which was right around the corner from elevator, but we heard no noise from the hotel or the road and it worked out great.

Bathroom is also spacious and there is a coffee maker, refrigerator, and iron in the room. Plenty of plugs for electrical appliances.

Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, make your own pancakes, cereals, yogurts, milk, coffee, etc. Plenty to fill you up and if you really wanted more, there is an IHOP about 100 feet from the back entrance.

Hard to beat this for $60 tax inclusive.

Room Tip: Try to get a road not on the road side to avoid the noise
