“Standard original Residence Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

I've written a review about this property before. This time, I didn't have internet issues. They've got wireless. I found out where the wi fi transmitter was - in my room behind the desk!

Everything worked as expected. I know what to expect in these hotels and wasn't disappointed nor surprised. I slept comfortably. It isn't a 5 star hotel, but it is a pretty good place to stay.

The staff were in general, very nice. The high point was the woman who checked me in. She's very detail oriented and you can tell she cares about the guests and doing a good job.

The low point was the woman in the breakfast area. She says "Hi, how are you doing?" but isn't listening for the answer, and has no problem being in your way blocking access to the food. I know she has a job to do, but in decades of travelling, I've never seen someone in the way like that, completely oblivious to the guests. I also had a "rhind" (or two or three) in the scrambled eggs, which is not common thank goodness. I'd keep the rest of the staff and turf her.

It snowed a few times and we told the hotel to not bother servicing our rooms, we didn't think they needed to be going around in the cold snow like that, but they serviced the rooms anyway. Very professional about the housekeeping but it is not an easy place to service.

Overall, I think the hotel and staff are great. Hopefully someone will notice about the woman at breakfast and straighten her around. It isn't a big problem, just a stupid thing to run into.

Room Tip: Depends what you like. I prefer an upper floor. The suites are not much more money than the single...

“Good location near train and hwy25”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Pretty much an average Residence Inn. Rooms were clean, internet ok, bed comfortable.
We had a suite with a loft, I think they call it a penthouse. The floor upstairs was very squeaky. The shower door was rackety and the shower itself is tiny. There is a full size shower/tub downstairs. There also was almost no water pressure in the upstairs shower.
Breakfast was good, typical for this chain.
Location is great if you need to be around Centennial/Englewood. The Arapahoe light rail station is within walking distance, as is the Sunflower grocery store, Starbucks, 5 guys and others. The one thing I hate about Residence Inns is they only have queen beds.
Gym is pretty good also. There were quite a few people eating during the nightly reception with beer and wine but I did not try the food.

“Limited Hot Water Supply :-(”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

One big problem is hot water. They even have signs posted in each room explaining how each room has it's own small hot water heater with limited capacity. When the water runs cold, you have to "wait 30 minutes for the hot water to replenish"

Hotel was near big roads, so was noisy, and bright lights shine directly on the windows, leaking in around the edges.

Room Tip: Don't get a room that faces the outside of the complex. Those rooms are heavy in road noise and...

“Comfortable Enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I stayed at this Residence Inn a number of times due to its proximity to an office I visited for work. It is also conveniently located to the I25 and the Denver light rail. There are a few restaurants close by and it's also a short walk from the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre and a few miles from Park Meadows Mall.

The place is clean enough and quite comfortable. Rooms are spacious and have the benefit of being self contained for when you're sick of eating at restaurants. There is a small supermarket a short walk away at which you can buy provisions and the kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, stove/cooktop, microwave, dishwasher etc. A very basic selection of utensils and cookware is also provided.

In winter it is less comfortable here, with the doors opening directy out into the weather, and while they clear the paths of snow the arrangements are less than cosy getting to the office or to do laundry etcetera.

Coin operated laundry facilities are available, but can be busy at times. A room containing a treadmill, a stepper and a bike passes as a gym.

A complimentary breakfast is provided and that's OK if you're in a hurry although I preferred to buy my own (real orange juice, unsweetened cereal).

In short, it's not a bad place to stay if you're passing through or in the area for work.

“Stay for medical procedure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

I was in Denver for medical treatment and the doctor's office let us know that the hotel provided a reasonable medical rate. It was also conveniently located to doctor's offices and the hospital. I'd only booked a room with a single bed (studio), but realized as we were travelling that two beds would be better after the procedure so we asked and were upgraded to a penthouse. The suite was clean and spacious. Breakfasts were good and there was decent stuff on the weeknight happy hour. Staff was very helpful. There were some minor plumbing problems which were dealt with promptly. Overall a good stay although I hope I don't have to go back for the same reason.
