My wife & I stayed at Coyote Ridge B/B for one night in June 2011 en route from Denver to Estes Park. It’s a good B/B and the breakfast is delicious, varied and the portions are good.
We didn’t think the property was easy to find, we drove past the side road a couple of times even though the directions say look out for the Coyote next to the side road! With the address being Grand Lake I wrongly assumed that it was in the town of Grand Lake, It’s not. Coyote Ridge B/B is about 8 miles out of town. Personally I would have preferred a B/B in town, or close to, town. There is nothing within walking distance and the only places to eat are in Grand Lake itself, a 15 minute drive away. If you have problems with stairs be aware that you must ascend a steep set of stairs at the rear of the property to enter. Kathy suggested several places to eat and we chose The Sagebrush Bar & Grill, a rough & ready kind of place but we found it fine. We had a chicken platter & an 8oz New York strip steak and the bill was $30.
One other point to mention, I can’t believe an earlier reviewer who said, “Kathy is the nastiest women I have ever met”. This is definitely not the case, we found Kathy to be a warm and friendly owner/hostess, very helpful and a good cook
