A newer best western, great rooms, wonderful breakfast with lots of choices, easy on and off freeway.

At a rate of about $70 per night for a room with 2 queen beds, this was less expensive than equivalent motels in the area that seem to go from $90 up. It is not luxurious, but was very clean and has most amenities that people expect in a room including a small refrigerator and microwave. It served a continental breakfast that had more offerings than most, and was especially nice because the breakfast area was attended by a woman who was very pleasant and kept the room very tidy.

While the place nominally accepts pets, I have never seen a place that is so anile about their policies. I was considering bringing my dog on my recent stay and was told that there would be a $25 extra charge for a special room. When I suggested that I might just let the dog stay in my vehicle, I was told that they didn't allow that. I asked how they could tell guests what they could keep in their vehicles, and was rudely told that it was their parking lot and they would call the police if I left a dog in the vehicle. They have a very large (and rather unattractive) parking lot in front of the place, and it seems to me that they could designate a part of it for vehicles with pets if they are concerned about them making noise.

This contrasts to a small hotel where I stayed one time. They didn't allow pets in the rooms (which was perfectly OK) but they said that it would be fine to leave my dog in the car outside, and they even offered to check on her for me! (She is very content in the car and never barks -- which is what should be regulated rather than just prohibiting all dogs.)

The motel is located on a main street about one-half mile from Interstate 70, amid other motels and restaurants, and about 2 miles from the downtown area that offers more unique restaurants and shops. My room was set back from the street and was quiet indoors. However, it was also very close to a small, rather unattractive outdoor pool that is probably noisy in summer when it is open.

Anyone should feel comfortable in this motel due to the amenities provided, including expansive choices for breakfast (self-service waffles with regular or lite syrup, hot and dry cereals, peeled boiled eggs, margarine or butter, soy milk, 3 bread choices, pastries, coffee or tea--you get the idea). Room had a specially sanitized remote control, grab bars in shower/bath, wall thermostat, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, etc. Very convenient to airport. There are a number of other motels on the same street.

Hint to housekeeping: vacuum the folds in the couch a bit more carefully to remove the grit.

Stayed at this hotel Oct. 10, 2011. The staff was very poite and freindly. The reservation was perfect and the hotel is in good proximity to things in Grand junction. The rooms beds were very comfortable. There is an Applbees right across the street. I would recomend this hotel to anyone. Very nice!
