“Operations Manager ruined a perfectly good stay”

My friends and I were in GJ unplanned visiting a friend of ours that was in ICU at St. Mary's. We weren't planning on spending the night but when it was almost the next day we decided to find a place to stay rather than drive. Since a few of us work together as travel agents we asked for TA rates. we were given the best TA rate at the Marriot Courtyard and I have had pleasant experiences with them before so we went for it. The guy that checked us in, Ryan, was fantastic and the room was comfortable. The next morning there was a misunderstanding at breakfast because we thought it was included in the rate. It was not and we realized our mistake and paid for breakfast and moved on with our day. Then the Operations Manager decided to take a personal vendetta against us. saying that the agreed upon rate from the night before was invalid and not a TA rate. He was verbally abusive to myself and my other TA friend saying we were the worst travel agents he'd ever come across and that we should have known that this rate was not valid and was still upset and berating us about the confusion with the breakfast. He was very rude and was actually yelling at us from behind the safety of the check in desk. We tried to explain the situation to him; we called reservations asking for a TA rate; they told us a rate and we reserved 2 rooms. but he decided to take his power trip to the next level and told us to leave. And then when i check my bank statement today I see he charged us for the full rate and not the rate agreed upon when we made the reservations. This is completely unacceptable and not legal. I will never stay at the Marriott Courtyard in GJ again nor reccomend it to clients soley due to the actions and immature behavior of the Operations Manager. If anyone is thinking about staying here I would check into another hotel.

I have personally called our reservations department and spoken with them about the error in the room charge which you should see corrected on your next bank statement. “Friendliest Staff, Clean and New”

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Grand Junction for 3 nights recently. The staff were so friendly and seemed to really care about my visit.

My room was perfectly clean and newish and the lighting was much better than many other hotels I have stayed in recently. Excellent and powerful shower.I loved each of my 6 pillows and the bed was not too soft and not too firm.The free wifi was easy to figure out.

I was aware of the free airport shuttle but did not need to use it. Seemed like it would be available any time I needed a lift to GJT, and really, the airport is within walking distance. I am also aware that guests can use the pool at the Courtyard or the closely neighboring Residence Inn.

Lots of good restaurants in the area. Look up Pantuso's on the same street if you stay here. Location is convenient to the airport, restaurants, and downtown Grand Junction is about 5 or 10 minutes away.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side face the Bookcliffs and the airport. Rooms on the east are on Horizon Drive...

If you have been to a courtyard Marriott then you know what to expect. They always have great service and nice rooms. I particularly had fun at the hotel bar. The bartender, Michelle I think, was very fun to talk to and met some nice guests too. It is right by the airport and across the street from our office. Not really much else to say, the courtyard is almost always my number one choice and they are all very similar.

“Good Facilities though no recognition for Platinum Members”

Brand new hotel with good facilities. However, I was disappointed that I did not receive a top floor room. That being said, the staff was nice and I did get a restful night's sleep.

“Great service near airport”

The staff was extremely accommodating in meeting every request. Free WI-FI, use of a computer and printer. Room was small and bedding smelled of smoke. Did not have enough time to have room changed. Airport is 100 yards away and shuttle very efficient.
