I booked this room last minute. It was spring break and this was the most affordable place in the area that I could find on short notice. We had tentative plans to stay with family and they would have allowed us to cancel two days in advance. The gal that helped us at the front desk was friendly and they had a bag of sample goodies that came in handy for the trip. We had a king size room, the bed was comfy, but the blankets were a bit thin and the heater was a window unit that warmed the room but it was pretty dry air. We kept turning it on and off all night to balance the temp. When the heater was off the bathroom would get really cold, but it had a warming light so it would heat up fairly quick. The place is older and the carpet showed it, the closet shelves were a bit grey from time, not dirt, and the lights were kinda dim. We chose not to have room service daily but I noticed that there were not extra needed items (toilet paper, and kleenex) and we only had a 1/2 roll and box when we arrived.
We ate at 3 resturants in town, the Longbranch (Excellent), Ians? (I think) bakery/pizza, excellent chewy crust, and Mavericks (won't go back). I would stay at this place again, if need be, but I think I will look for a place up the road closer to Winter Park.
