Granby was closed the Sunday we stayed there - there were NO restaurants/bars open. The liquor stores were closed (no wine/liquor for sale in Colorado on Sunday, we were advised). The wireless at Littletree was VERY slow. The room was neat and the bed was comfortable but the management had scrimped on wattage in the bulbs so it was dim [two bulbs burned out the one evening we were there!] - just as well as the place needs cleaning and a general shaking up - paint peeling, tiles don't fit, etc. Water pressure was good and water was hot. No AAA/AARP/etc discounts and $ was high for what we got. Trains all ran on schedule - I counted 5 during the night - but the train noise was relieved by the garbage truck which reversed, beeping, at approx. 0500 to collect the garbage just outside the room. There are no interesting walks or views from this motel. Winter Park is just 20-minutes south and that's where I'll stay when next I'm in the neighbourhood.

I booked the room through Orbitz. But on that evening, the Trail Ridge Road in the National Park is closed due to bad weather. I called the hotel, telling him the fact that I cannot go across the Rocky Mountains and asking him to cancel my reservation. But the owner refused. That night I had to drive another 160 miles down to Denver in order to get to the other side of the mountain. Otherwise, I would have stayed in the east side. That 3 hrs night driving is very exhausting. Finally I got there at 11pm. The room is big but not very clean.
