We booked this hotel via the Days Inn website. The best rates can be obtained if you book using the pre-paid, no cancellation or changes option, as we did. More conventional booking arrangements (same day cancellation policy) are only slightly higher.
Staff and their excellent customer service were readily apparent even before we checked in. I sent an e-mail inquiring about a crib for our infant daughter and the next day received a very cordial and welcoming response from the manager, indicating that cribs were available for no cost (subject to availability). When we checked in, there were two desk clerks, both serving customers, but they acknowledged us immediately, indicating they would be with us in a moment. Check in was friendly and fast and there were no problems with the pre-payment that had been made via the website. A new, portable crib was brought to our room as requested.
The common areas and our room were very clean. The property is beginning to show its age but it has been well maintained. The only thing that I would point out is that the bathroom would probably be in need of updating soon (the toilet was rather loud when filling) and counter space is limited; however, it was clean and well kept. Promised amenities (we requested a room with a fridge and microwave) were there as expected and in good working order.
The on-site restaurant is a great place to eat but bear in mind that it is only open for breakfast and lunch.
The hotel's location is excellent. It is adjacent to I-70 but there was no noticeable noise as a result. It is right between the communities of Lakewood and Golden; the latter is especially nice and scenic and this location is great if you plan on heading to the mountains.
Check out was quick, with no problems.
This is an above average property for a Days Inn. We liked it very much and would definitely stay here again. As long as you are expecting a budget to mid-range hotel for a reasonable price, this property is likely to impress.
