“Overall nice place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My wife and I go to Glenwood Springs for New Year's each year. We arrived on New Year's eve and stayed for two nights in one of the rooms on the river side. The view was nice and the room clean and the bed very comfy. It was nice to have a kitchen type counter with sink, micro, under counter frig. table with chairs for eating. We didn't expect the trains round the clock though. Our shower head needed to be replaced as you could not adjust the spray. The breakfast was better any other motel we have stayed at. I chose the Quality Inn because of the pool in addition to the spa but unfortunately the spa pump died on New Year's day so we could not use it. This was very disappointing to us because each previous year we stayed at the Antler's Best Western and their's worked great. They do not have an indoor pool for the cold part of the year so that's why we decided to try the Quality Inn.

Room Tip: The river side has the trains to deal with. The only ice machine is on the first floor near the pool...

“You'll find rooms here for a romantic getaway!”

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago with our two teenage boys. The hotel manager showed my husband and I the rooms with a jacuzzi. I was surprised to see the room set up. Nice sized suite with a very large jacuzzi at the foot of the bed and a gas fireplace. How romantic! Well, here we are without the boys in this cozy suite in Jan. "2012". So awesome to look out the window in our private quarters staring out at the snowy river while relaxing in our personal jacuzzi after a hard day of soaking in the Hot Springs pool and eating out, ha! Our room was next to the deck set up for barbequing. We'll be back to use that in warmer weather. Really Nice!! This hotel is older than it's "Glenwood Suites" sister next door but we like the room set up much better. And that it is situated on the river instead of being near the highway is purrrfect!

Room Tip: We liked room number 105 because we liked how everything was situated there as described in the revi...

“It's slipped since our stay in August”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We were happy enough with our August visit to rebook it for a Christmas ski trip. Sad to say, but things were not as good this time around.

While the rooms are still clean and very decently appointed and the desk staff remains very friendly and helpful, we were frustrated with other areas.

We arrived Christmas Day and stayed 4 nights. No housekeeping services on Christmas Day, but the front desk was quick to supply a needed pillow and blanket. Not a problem, but other faults were harder to overcome. The jets for the rather tepid "hot" did not work the entire length of our stay. The computer monitor in the business center didn't work, and apparently hadn't for awhile. The never changing "hot" breakfast seemed skimpier and the wheat bread was stale every day. Someone's pinching pennies.

On the plus side, this being football bowl season, we were dismayed to struggle with the cable box and it was long after normal business hours. The staff at the front desk promptly found another box and switched it out.

At this point, we may choose another spot the next time we return.

“Wish we had known this place earlier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed here on our last night of vacation in Glenwood Springs. Our room was very clean and we had the beautiful Colorado river just outside the window. We didn't know the place was pet friendly because we didn't see, hear or smell any furry creatures. (I like it that way). I love how close the hotel is to food and shopping plus all the incredible outdoor activities. The price is reasonable and the staff was nice. Highly recommend!

“Nice location on river but hotel needs some management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Stayed here for a few nights in August. The rooms on the river side of the hotel seem much nicer than the ones on the freeway side. My room on the parking lot/freeway side was noisy with motorcycles rolling in late at night. The pool and spa looked too dirty to use. There was dirt/sediment in the hot tub and the pool was super cloudy. I didn't let my kids use it. The front desk staff is in charge of the breakfast and does not pay attention to it. There were no clean tables and items were not restocked. While the trash was literally overflowing onto the floor, the front desk girl was on the internet and couldn't care less. For a comparable property, I'd choose the Holiday Inn Express in Rifle - it was much better. Also the Quality Inn had doors that do not self close so if you didn't pull it shut, it was unlocked. Each day we came back, the maid had not pulled it shut so it was unlocked. Front desk staff had no solution for this.
