“Real hotel - not a cookie cutter chain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Spent a weekday night at the Hotel Denver. Pleasantly surprised, and will come back again.

Had an outside-view room with a Queen bed.

The room was very nice and very clean. REAL wood furniture - no some particle board stuff that you get in the chains. Nice bed, comfortable pillows, exposed brick wall, nice view of Glenwood. Do yourself a favor and stay at a local institution like the Hotel Denver.

I was glad to visit a real hotel for a change. I'm tired of the chains and industrial breakfasts they give you. It'd be great if Hotel Denver would have a larger breakfast spread, but the hot coffee, granola bar, and apple were plenty to get me going in the morning.

A nice bonus is the restaurant and brewpub downstairs. Great beer, great food, and always busy with both locals and visitors.

“Pet friendly and ambience galore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent a night in one of Hotel Denver's Queen with a view rooms because they allow pets, but it was not you're typical pet hotel experience. The antique furniture was classically fitting, and the view of the Colorado River was fantastic. The cozy sleigh bed and large bathroom were a big bonus. But the best part about the Hotel Denver is that they allow you to leave your pets in your room unattended if you leave your cell phone number with the front desk. This was the first time in so long that I was able to go out to dinner and not order pizza or room service while on a trip with the dog. Oh, and there's no pet fee or deposit!

Room Tip: Best pet friendly hotel in Glenwood Springs.

“A Lovely Old Hotel in the Heart of Glenwood Springs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

This hotel could not have been more conveniently located. I traveled east on Amtrak to meet my daughter....she traveled west. We had no car so this was ideal for us. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We dined in the "conveniently located in the lobby", Brew Pub one evening. It was just a wonderful stay.

“Excellent getaway for two”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We took the trip from Denver for a three day getaway - the hotel is very tastefully decorated, clean, and I love the antiques in the room. It has that one of a kind look inside - not "chain looking" at all. Our bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. The best part of our stay was the warm and helpful attitude of the staff. We saw several shift changes and every single person working the front desk was exceptionally professsional and friendly. The hotel lobby and the room - very much have a romantic and calm atmosphere. It is also located very conveniently near wonderful restaurants and of course, the lovely hot springs. Try out The Pullman and Juicy Lucy's.

Room Tip: We opted for the Romance Package, and for only a few dollars more, we had a gorgeous bouquet of flow...

Not your typical hotel. Love staying here. Has a feel of being at home more than staying away.
