Had the pleasure of staying at the Rodeway Inn on a last minute year end trip to Glenwood Springs. Due to past bad experiences with ecomony lodgings, we normally stay at the more high end establishments.
But as most hotels were booked for the holidays, the only available rooms were at the Rodeway.
When we checked in we were very pleasantly surprized to find that the rooms & bath areas were immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable, heating system ( though a bit noisy ) had no trouble keeping the room comfortably warm. The room was equipted with wide screen LCD TV with a reasonable selection of Cable channels. The Wi-Fi computer access worked flawlessly with no difficulties in access or log on.
This property is located only a short drive from all the attractions & eatting establishments in the down town area. However, the 25 mph local speed limits do make most local trips seem to be much longer than they really are. The property is located near the highway & railroad right of way. However, the rooms remained quiet and passing cars & trains were only barely perceptable.
Breakfast is provided with the room. The eatting area is in the lobby and is quiet small. THe choice of breakfast items is somewhat limited but acceptable considering the price paid for the room.
Overall, our stay was very pleasant. Walter, the owner of the establishment was always happy to do whatever he could to help make out stay comfortable. He always had time to give directions to local sights or offer help.
We would defintiely recommend the Roadway Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a bargain price. The place is clean, comfortable and safe !
