We recently went to Glenwood Springs- we usually go 2 to 3 times a summer and have for years and years. For probably the past 10 years, we have usually stayed at the Cedar Lodge. This time, I called a couple of other places to compare prices and I was quite pleased to find the Cedar Lodge was the best value once again. It is a basic motel, but we have always found it to be well maintained over the years, with changes made when needed. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave which is very helpful as we usually have an ice chest with lunch items for the pool the next day. When we arrive, they usually have cooled the room down some which is nice and they update the beds and all. The breakfast is a very nice spread of cold items such as cereals, yogurt, bagels, basic pastry items probably prepackaged and coffee, juice, milk, etc... It is not a buffet or anything, but we have found that other places in town say they have "breakfast" and it is basically and packaged sweet roll and coffee in the office. The Cedar Lodge has a nice breakfast room with about 9 4 seater tables so you can sit down and eat. I would have liked to see some fresh fruit, but hey- I''m not really compaining! For the rates, I was quite satisfied.
They also have a nice outdoor pool and an indoor pool and hot tub. I don't think I have ever been in them because our focus in going there is to spend a day or two at the Hot Springs Lodge and Pool and we are usually pooled out by the time we arrive there. They are very friendly and accomodating to us and we have appreciated the friendly touch such as having them recognize our name when we call and to be open about our arrival times. i would like to see them make a changeover from bedspreads to comforters that can be laundered as many places have- that is my preference. Just a thought. Thanks Cedar Lodge for many years of pleasure with our family!
