“Very Accomodating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2011

I found this place , while planning a chick trip several yrs ago. Needless to say I have been back 3 other times, Last time was with a huge group. Andrew was nothing but kind. I enjoyed listening to his Mom tell stories. We are planning to be back up at the end of Jan with14 people. Again Andrew set us up to comfortable accommodations. Very conveinient to town, and eateries.
On my chick trip, the Amtrak was late and they allowed us to stay in the room until we needed to go to the station, because it was raining. :)

“Doggie hotel great for dogs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2009

Yes, the location is perfect--right between the pool and the Caverns. We paid $97 total ($80 for room, + $10 for two small dogs, + $7 taxes, etc.) The price was right given the lower-end quality of accommodation--it was a typical Interstate motel: our room had a microwave, coffee maker and fixings, two wafers of soap (I didn't know they made them that small), rough towels, TV, etc.
We were very pleased NOT to pay a fortune to have dogs with us. I'm cheap, so YES I would stay there again.
Our only complaint was that the neighbors were bikers who had a long, loud, profane conversation outside our door, and then fired up their bike--several times--at 12:00 midnight!

“Horrible experience with this proprietor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2009

The manager or owner of this motel is rude and seemingly unstable. I would not recommend anyone stay under any circumstances. I had an experience walking my young dog through his patch of grass and rather than politely ask me to move the man violently pounded on his window and aggressively motioned at me to move along. I did move to a spot off his property and when I made a record of his address on my walk back he came outside and verbally accosted me. I explained that his response was very rude and had he asked me politely I would have moved along without issue. He proceeded to not only call me names, but followed me in a stalker like manner back to my vehicle to record my license plate numbers. Im not sure what his plan for that would be, or the purpose except to intimidate me, which he did not. He also made comments as to the character of Californian's in general when he saw that I had a CA license plate. The motel claims to be dog friendly, well as long as your pet doesn't have to relieve themselves EVER then maybe it is. I personally have never given anyone a poor review in my life, but the aggressive and nearly violent nature of this individual prompted me to take immediate action. BEWARE.

“The Manager was very rude”

Stopped to check the place out and to see if they would accomodate pets. When I got out of my car the manager ran out and was yelling at me about my pet. I told him that he was being rude and to please speak to me in a professional manner. He stated that it does not work when he does that.

“only if desperate, have a dog or both”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2009

This property is shabby but very conveniently located & is one of the few that still allows dogs in Glenwood; its best features. The rooms show their age, which we might find quaint under other circumstances. However, the proprietors are what drag this property into the negative scale; unresponsive or even argumentative (example: a comment about the most uncomfortable bed was dismissed with "no one has ever complained about it before". We suspect those "others" merely stayed elsewhere on next visit to town, especially if they tried to communicate a suggestion to the managers). They even accused us of lying about a request we made! If you can avoid dealing with them, the location and price might make it worth your while to stay, but that is a big "if". Unless you have a dog with you, I can think of no reason to return here, as there are many other places in the same area whose customer service is vastly superior. There is a reason this property was available even during peak periods when the others are booked up. (We visit town several times a year for the wonderful pool. Oh, and don't miss great food at the Bayou Restaurant, now downtown)
