“Excellent service, cozy stay.”

We made a last minute booking to stay for the Christmas Market. The owner only had one room left which was big enough for a large family. He cut the rate for the room since there was only 2 of us, even though I didn't ask for a discount.

We were greeted warmly and as if we were expected family members visiting after a long time away. Our room was clean and comfortable, warm on a very cold night.

Breakfast was excellent. Everyone was very friendly!

“A luxorious stay for a fair price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2008

I was pretty amazed at the one negative review only because my stay was so nearly perfect. We enjoy older homes, beautifully maintained, and the Inn fit the bill. Clean, comfortable, and beautiful. A lovely view from the balcony - a soak on a cold night in the hot tub - a friendly and interesting - but professional - innkeeper - a sumptuous breakfast - fresh baked cookies at night - and all a few minute walk from shops, eateries and quaint museums. Maynard the mastiff and Cookie the cat were added delights, though they both lay low unless requested to allow those with allergies to visit.

Negatives? Really no closet space to speak of but hooks and drawers, yes. I'd recommend a back-of-the-door hook be added in the bathroom. And I do echo other comments about the stairs. Though nicely carpeted they're steep so those who have trouble with walking up stairs wouldn't do well.

Overall though - my guy and I loved it and are already recommending it to others.

  • Liked — Fire in main room - lovely to read in after coming in from the cold.

“disappointed by quality”

For the price, we would have liked towels that did not smell moldy, an adequate heater in the room, a bed not shoved against the wall and blocked on three sides and the smallest, cramped bathroom we've ever seen. The owner was out of town and had some friends cooking breakfast, which was good, but we hope for a little more than scrambled eggs and bacon.

“A Wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2008

Susan is the owner of the All Aboard Inn. She bubbles with enthusiasm and is a wonderful and gracious host. The B&B is a Colorado Victorian, typical of the old mining communities. Built in 1880, the house has been updated to be comfortable, but it hasn't lost it's historical feeling. The house was spotless. Coffee was on early, and when we came down for breakfast, we enjoyed a gourmet meal with the other guests. The B&B is within walking distance of historical main street, where we shopped for Colorado artwork and great Colorado photography. Shopkeepers were friendly and a delight to visit with. You MUST visit the historic Hotel de Paris, on main street. You can take a personal tour, and it's worth the time. It hasn't been open for guests since the 1950's, and was at it's height in the 1890's. It has original everything. Susan will give you some great tips on where to eat dinner and where to find a good martini or a good glass of wine. We will definitely stay at the All Aboard Inn again next summer.

  • Liked — Wonderful host; historic old Victorian home; walk to shops.
  • Disliked — Stairs

“Wonderful stay”

I found this B&B just doing a search online.
From the moment we pulled up until the moment we left, my fiance and I both had a great time!
The place itself as susan called it was ''her crooked little house''. If I remember correctly it was built in the 1840's?! and was so wonderfully updated!! Susan let us see some of the rooms that we werent staying in, and they all were great! We had the upstairs suite and loved it!

We went to the red ram for dinner at 6 and ended up chatting it up with all the locals until late in the morning.
We really enjoyed our stay here! I would HIGHLY recommend it if you like older homes and are amazed by small towns. Definitely go to idaho spings, and drive through Georgetown through the east side and you will find a road that leas up some of the mountain, its beautiful!

Enjoy your stay~

  • Liked — The personality of the town and of the B&B
  • Disliked — I wish Georgetown had as much to do as Idaho springs did!
