“Stay somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I gave it one star because there was nothing less. The hotel caters for athletes and teams visiting CSU. The original hotel was a Holiday Inn, and the change to Hilton did nothing for the hotel. Just down the road is a Marriott where you can get great service.

The buffet breakfast on the Sunday I stayed was a disgrace, and it is not inexpensive. I selected to order breakfast from the menu and got the most pathetic egg Benedict I have ever been served.

One of my biggest complaints about Hilton Hotels is general is the on line reservation system. They constantly vary the price of a room at the hotel and if you are checking different dates and different options it is really easy to get locked into a rate you did not intend to select. Unlike the airlines with Hilton you do not get 24 hours to check and change or cancel.

I will not be getting a diamond card from Hilton next year.

Room Tip: Some rooms looking west have a nice view.

“Very Nice Stay During Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Our family stayed at this Hilton during the wedding of our daughter. and the wedding reception was also at this Hilton in Fort Collins. We chose to use part of our Hilton points to stay here and booked online. Hilton allows you to use part of your points and pay $44 or so dollars for a night which is what we did. Online we were offered the choice of a regular room or an executive room (which we chose) for the same cost of points... the difference here was that we received free breakfast buffet coupons and could take advantage of the concierge room overlooking the beautiful mountains where you could get free snacks or drinks. The executive rooms were no different in size really from the regular rooms but are on the top floor where the concierge room is located. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet... the breakfast buffet was outstanding with omelets to order, fresh fruit, wonderful muffins, and assorted meats and cheeses. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. The wedding reception went very smoothly and was beautiful. My daughter wanted a simple wedding reception and Hilton offered her the opportunity to make it what she wanted. Since we were from East coast, it was comforting for me to know that there was a wedding consultant (social services director) on hand to guide her through the process and allow her to choose decorations and menu in keeping with her desire. The consultant worked with her through the months ahead up until the wedding.... there was one set fee based on the number of people attending and that included the lunch, the room, all decorations, flowers for the tables, all service charges, champagne toast, and the wonderful services of the social director. The social events director, Lisa, was there setting up the room before the reception and on hand throughout the wedding.in the background... from helping my daughter fasten her bustle to making sure the wedding cupcake cake(s) were arranged perfectly and all went smoothly. All in all, it was a perfect wedding reception for my daughter and a wonderful memory. The Hilton food was very good as well.... Overall, our stay was delightful... the room was perfect, the amenities were good, the breakfast was outstanding, and the reception made everyone a happy memory., especially my daughter.

Room Tip: Book online if you are a Hilton Honors member. If not, consider joining as it is worth it to join H...

“Excellent getaway for our anniversary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband I celebrated our 7th anniversary by going for a getaway to Fort Collins. I had a number of HHonors points to use and so I focused on this brand of hotels. Don't let the reviews here fool you...this is still an absolutely beautiful hotel with a fantastic staff. We reserved a Mountain View Room, because it was the "cheapest" points wise. What a treat! The room was huge and beautifully done. We could tell the rooms had been renovated recently. There were tons of little touches...our towels were arranged like an elephant, for instance. It still feels like a grand hotel.

I had mentioned on the reservation form that it was our anniversary and Matthew, the front-desk clerk, acknowledged this in a genuine manner. He was so very nice. We checked in and got settled, then headed out for the evening. When we got back to the room, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a bottle of champagne on ice and two flutes! Totally unexpected, but so wonderful. Never, when using a free night, did I expect such excellent treatment.

We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Mountain View rooms have a great view of the mountains and have wonderful sun pouring in during the...

“Best place to stay when visiting CSU”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Fort Collins in October 2011 for a visit to Colorado State University. The location is great; literally a block south of the campus' southern edge near (but not on) a major intersection. The hotel has a center atrium design so all rooms face the outside and the higher floors not only have the better views, but also less noise from the atrium. The west rooms have the best views of the foothills, but the north rooms have the best views of CSU. There is a greenbelt on the south side of the hotel. Both the buffet and menu breakfasts are very good, if somewhat expensive. The rooms are nice, but not exactly modern. The hotel is hard to book during home football game weekends and graduation, so plan ahead. Free parking, nice bar, and good coffee kiosk.

“Nice hotel, but looks a little dated.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Nice hotel, clean and good bed. Close to the main roads and downtown, across the street from the University campus. Breakfast was expensive and not very good selection. It has a Starbucks shop inside so we lived of coffee and muffins and went elsewhere for lunch and dinner. They charge $9.99 for wifi each day! And only have free wifi by the business room. It has a large atrium and all the floors are open so you can look down. They have a glass elevator that sees into the atrium. It might not be the best place for you if you don't like heights. ;)

LunaR29407,

Thanks for the review. I am glad you were overall pleased with your stay, but am sorry you did not find the selection at our breakfast buffet to your liking. We are always adding to it, so perhaps next time there will be offerings more to your taste. Hope to see you again soon.
