I was a little turned off by the view of the place from the street, but the interiors are clean and very well maintained. The desk clerk was very helpful, and there is a lovely (continental) breakfast spot in the main area with a view of the street, patio and fireplace. I was a concerned about being on the ground floor right under the stairwell (I'm a young female traveling alone), but it was very quiet and safe. Comfy king bed, clean bathroom. They're very eco-friendly, promoting recycling and water conservation. Mini-fridge and microwave in the room. No frills, great budget stay in a great location!

We were visiting our son who attends CSU and we had no idea where to take him for dinner
(our son was no help, haha). The desk clerk, Ed, was very helpful and knowlegable of the town. He answered all our questions and recommended a great restaurant. The rooms were nice and it was very centrally located. We could walk to Old Town and the shops....not to mention it was right next to the campus. All-in-all, a great trip!

Our room was on the inside, not on the street side, and was quiet. The king bed was comfortable. The in-wall heater was not too loud. Bathroom area was a little crowded for 2, but well-maintained with nice tile work in the shower area and plenty of hot water. The room included a microwave and small refrigerator. If only they had replaced one more piece of furniture in the room it would all have been easier to use. As it was I charged my laptop from an outlet on top of the microwave (which was on top of the fridge) because the outlet near the table was connected to the wall switch so when we turned out the light the computer didn't get power either. The room included 2 chairs that didn't fit well, but if you needed 2 chairs they were there. Small things, really. Nice toiletries. Breakfast was what you'd expect, with cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, hard-boiled eggs for protein and a waffle maker and packaged pastries and bagels. We were close to the U and to downtown, which was nice. We had a conference rate, and the room was well worth the negotiated price.

The good: Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, pool and hot tub was nice, staff was polite and helpful, and this was in a safe area. The bad: Rooms are very small, somewhat older, traffic noise is high from 6 lane road in front and parking is tight. Doors are old and show some daylight around and under them and cannot be closed without slamming them hard. Thus, everytime someone goes in or out, you get a big ka-boom that shaked the whole building. Train tracks nearby and they really lay on the horn. The hotel web site shows the road in front of the hotel with no traffic on it. That is a joke and must have been taken like at 7am on Christmas morning or something, because it is non stop traffic, motors racing, tires squealing, etc. If you leave in your car in the early morning, you will not be able to park near your room when you come back as when the day staff comes in, they all park in front of the rooms.
