“Ft Collins best-kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Innkeeper Lizzy pampered us with warm, friendly service and tasty, interesting food that was a treat. We sat at the table 1.5 hours after finishing breakfast enjoying good conversation with the interesting other guests. One of these guests said she stays there whenever in Ft Collins because "Lizzy's a wonderful cook". This stay was a great birthday gift, and we plan to return to this immaculate, fresh accomodation, which should be advertised more.

Room Tip: Over time I want to stay in each room, as they're each decorated so uniquely.

“Tara is a gourmet chef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We had a wonderful weekend at the Inn. Tara was exceptionally hospitable in meeting our unique scheduling needs. We thought the cheese and wine time was a fun way to meet the other couples staying there. Breakfast was first class.

“Comfortable and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

The Inn had been recommended by our daughter and her husband - they really raved about the breakfasts they'd experienced. I'd have to echo JP's "unusual experience" as far as the breakfast was concerned. We stayed two nights, so our first breakfast included a smoothie and waffle with strawberries - could have had more syrup... The second morning we had an omelet with squash. We're not huge eaters so the food was ample for us, but not as qourmet as descriptions had indicated. Other than that, the inn was very hospitable, comfortable and nicely decorated and sparkly clean! We enjoyed visiting with the other couple that was staying there - over wine and cheese (provided both nights) and Lizzie was very helpful in giving us tips about the Fort Collins area and very friendly.

“Perfect Home Away From Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

The Inn is wonderful--great food; personable, fun innkeepers; beautifully, comfortably and functionally arranged/decorated and very clean :). It is also conveniently located to Old Town Ft. Collins, CSU, etc. Could not recommend more highly. Oh yes, I may have just gotten lucky but the other guests were fun, funny and normal, and good conversation and laughs were enjoyed by all around the breakfast table. I stayed in the green room upstairs, which I loved--the windows of the room overlook the back yard below and when I stayed (winter) there was a picturesque view of a sparkly blanket of snow on the ground and on all the tree branches in the yard--very serene and romantic. Dietary restrictions/preferences were easily and amicably accommodated by Tara. THE best place to stay in Ft. Collins, no doubt about it.

Room Tip: I like the upstairs rooms the best as they feel a bit more private.

“Unusual experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I'm very puzzled by the reviews for the Inn at City Park. All the descriptions of the actual property seem accurate; rooms were very clean, were as pictured, and on a quiet street in a nice location. The service and breakfast, however, were shockingly poor compared to descriptions on the website as well as reviews. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the, apparently, amazing Tara; Lizzie was our hostess/inn keeper instead. We stayed for two nights and on the first, I received a call stating that nobody would be around to check us in, but that there would be instructions, wine and a cheese plate left for us.There was. There was also at least one other person in the house with us that night, other guests I assumed. In the morning, we went down to breakfast and met Lizzie for the first time. There were no other guests and breakfast consisted of the following; 1 belgian waffle with craisins, coffee, orange juice. That is all. While we ate, Lizzie sat in the other room, the "office". It was a tense environment and we didn't feel welcome. When I acquired about the bikes (yes it's November, but it was a clear, brisk, but sunny day & we were excited to explore), I was told they had already been "winterized"?? and that it's tricky with the ice and all...There was not any ice on any of the roads we had traveled to get there and we saw many, many people on bikes out and about. On our second evening, we returned from hiking. Someone was in one of the downstairs rooms again; there was no wine and cheese. Next morning, breakfast consisted of a huge bowl of yogurt, granola and strawberries. Lizzie prepared a very mediocre omelet made only with squash and green peppers, dry with little to no cheese, o.j. and coffee. True it was better than the morning before, but not what I've come to expect over the years at a bed and BREAKFAST, nor what I expected based on the website. It was very uncomfortable when she was there and creepy when she wasn't because of the faceless "visitor" that stayed in the house with us each night and was gone first thing in the morning!! We'd love to experience Tara's cooking but I just wouldn't go back. Too bad, it's a nice property...
