I'm very puzzled by the reviews for the Inn at City Park. All the descriptions of the actual property seem accurate; rooms were very clean, were as pictured, and on a quiet street in a nice location. The service and breakfast, however, were shockingly poor compared to descriptions on the website as well as reviews. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the, apparently, amazing Tara; Lizzie was our hostess/inn keeper instead. We stayed for two nights and on the first, I received a call stating that nobody would be around to check us in, but that there would be instructions, wine and a cheese plate left for us.There was. There was also at least one other person in the house with us that night, other guests I assumed. In the morning, we went down to breakfast and met Lizzie for the first time. There were no other guests and breakfast consisted of the following; 1 belgian waffle with craisins, coffee, orange juice. That is all. While we ate, Lizzie sat in the other room, the "office". It was a tense environment and we didn't feel welcome. When I acquired about the bikes (yes it's November, but it was a clear, brisk, but sunny day & we were excited to explore), I was told they had already been "winterized"?? and that it's tricky with the ice and all...There was not any ice on any of the roads we had traveled to get there and we saw many, many people on bikes out and about. On our second evening, we returned from hiking. Someone was in one of the downstairs rooms again; there was no wine and cheese. Next morning, breakfast consisted of a huge bowl of yogurt, granola and strawberries. Lizzie prepared a very mediocre omelet made only with squash and green peppers, dry with little to no cheese, o.j. and coffee. True it was better than the morning before, but not what I've come to expect over the years at a bed and BREAKFAST, nor what I expected based on the website. It was very uncomfortable when she was there and creepy when she wasn't because of the faceless "visitor" that stayed in the house with us each night and was gone first thing in the morning!! We'd love to experience Tara's cooking but I just wouldn't go back. Too bad, it's a nice property...
