We got a room here, booked at their website, for $99 ($109 with tax).
It was enormous, and furnished from a 1985 catalog of style. I care about style, but not when I'm paying such a low rate in an area dominated by pricey and uber-pricey lodging. So the Emerald Green carpet was fine, as was the Naugahyde Lay-Z-boy recliner.
Both refrigerators (there was a standard family sized, as well as a hotel room sized) were unplugged when we arrived, and the room's heater was on stand-by. I approve. No need to waste electricity. The room was warm enough (this booking was December 28) and the family fridge quickly reached its operating temperature
Eagle Lodge provides a few smoking rooms, and are finicky about smoking in other rooms. I approve that, too. I asked whether I could burn a scented candle. They assented. The owner even brought me some matches. A nice touch.
I didn't ask the owner's name, but I could tell it was a family operation. He walked in with a small group as I checked in and his off-leash dog sniffed me. I was unfazed by the experience, but I know that off-leash dogs are NOT standard hotel procedure. So be aware that this hotel is dog friendly.
I am an anti-noise advocate. I am especially concerned with barking dogs. I belong to various online groups concerned with noise.
I head dogs barking four times during the 13 hour stay. None bothered me much, and I am VERY much bothered by dog barking. I think I was not bothered because the noise was not chronic, and took place at times of day when I expect noise in hotels.
Now that I've played nice, I'll dish: Noise is a problem at this hotel. It's an old building, and creaky. You can hear the upstairs hallway from the lower floor. We suffered a booted child running, in his boots, directly above us. You are unlikely to have a post-Christmas six year-old above you. If you do, it's unlikely that he will have received boots. But because the 1985 Emerald Green carpet is very thin at Eagle Lodge, you will know if you do.
That damn kid was so excited about his boots, he ran until 11:30 pm, and got up before 7 am to run some more.
There's an exercise room with free weights (a rarity). I never saw the pool or the Jacuzzi, but I believe they exist. Ample parking, plenty of nearby amenities. The hotel is immediately adjacent to I-70.
Room Tip: Second floor only. The first is a stomping parade.

Thank you for the positive review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate the feedback and learn from it to help provide a better experience for guests in the future. We have been slowly remodeling the property for some time and plan to have it completed before this summer. The remodel will address outdated furniture, color schemes in both guest rooms and common areas. New carpet and padding, minor repairs and wall decorations will help to solve the noise level. We have recently modified our pet policy and ask all guests and employees to keep pets on their leashes. We have also beefed up our "quiet time" policy so that all guests can enjoy a quiet & restful stay. Noise is usually not a problem here but can be on busy active nights. We trust our improvements will help in this area since one of our goals is to provide "the best night sleep in town". Sincerely, Ralph Ciarlanti III, Managing Member & GM
