Traveled a lot and stayed in a lot of small town hole in the wall places but this if by far the worst! GREAT place to commit a crime, so many bodily fluids, hair and dirt all over the bathroom and room that no crime lab could ever process it all!!!
NASTY bathrooms and showers, hard as a rock beds and to top it all off the guy running the place is a nut job and overall pretty creepy. Gave my kids candy and I immediately threw it away for fear it was tainted.
Oh and the restaraunt next door is just as bad.

Keep goin down the road!

Hi "race0313" my name is Samit Patel and I wanted to send you a response to your trip advisor review of the Travelers Lodge. As of March 5th, 2012 I am the new owner of this property and would like to apologize on behalf of the old owners and operators for your horrible stay at my property. Honestly when I first came here I ,myself did not want to stay in any of the rooms. So I along with my new staff have been working very very hard to clean up this place and make it into a place people will enjoy staying. We are renovating as we speak and things are already improving. I have hired new management and all round new staff. I hope you can give us another chance if you are ever in town again.

Thank You

“6 Night Stay”

If you are looking for a clean inexpensive place to take a shower & sleep this is it. If you are spoiled & want luxury go on to Lamar, Limon or Denver. This motel is older and it shows it's age, stains on porcelan from the hard water, some nicks & dings, etc. However, the AC worked, the bathroom was clean & cleaned every day. Towels & wash cloths were clean and fresh every day. The room was clean and was cleaned every day. The TV worked and there is access to local Colo. Springs channels as well as the Weather Channel & FOX NEWS and more. Someone complained about a fly swater in the room, we were damn glad to have one because every time the door was opened some came in (this is the plains & flies live here people). There were no bug bites as some luxury oriented guest complianed about. Alan (the manager) was friendly, very accommodating and special attention was given for a handicapped guest. Cost of room was excellent. Lots of truckers & hunters stay here. Contrary to popular belief, truckers & hunters don't stay where bugs bite, things are not clean & stuff doesn't work. K&M Cafe a short walk accross the parking lot, good food, good prices, friendly satff. Gas station close by & the Windmill Bar a short walk away with friendly owners & good prices. We met lots of nice folks from the town of Eads. A great value, thanks Alan, we will be back. Bill & Jon

My husband and I stayed there last night, and this is hands down the dirtiest motel we've ever been in. We don't ask for or much in a place like this - just for it to be clean. This place was an epic fail. There was a fly swatter hanging on the wall with a dead fly still stuck to it. If the owner knows they need a fly swatter in the room I don't have much confidence in the efforts to keep the place clean. There were about a dozen dead bugs, and several that were still alive throughout the room. They were some kind of beetle. I'm really grateful that we had a handful of blankets with us because we were able to sleep on top of the sheets and blanket. We have travelled many places and stayed in a sorts of hotels/motels/hostiles, and we have never felt the need to sleep on top of the sheets. I also have several bug bites and fear that they're from bed bugs, but that I don't know for sure since we didn't pull the covers of the bed back. We are pretty filthy and didn't even bother showing here - we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. It was cheap - that's the one positive I can say about the place - and we got a good laugh out of what sounded like a bird trying to get into our room via the AC unit. I would recommend pushing through to the next town in your travels rather than staying at this dirty place - unless bug infested motels don't bother you, in which case, by all means stop here because it's cheap!

“Clean, good value, great attitude by management.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

My brother & I are taking a cross country bicycle trip that took us through Eads, CO. We stayed here and found Alan, the owner very customer oriented and friendly. This is new management, so people who are familiar with this motel under the previous owners should give it a new chance.

The room was clean and already cooled down during a serious heat wave that is hitting this area. The price is a good value and cyclists are offered a special discount. Give it a try.

“Keep driving past this one!!”

We stopped in Eads w/ a cross-country bike group. They had camping arrangements but we chose to stay at the hotel instead. Wish we had camped now.
The rooms were dirty. Beer bottle caps were still on the floor. The shower and sink were dirty. The towels were thin, small and had stains.
We had a ground level room. it was very dark and the lamps did not work. There were a lot of local construction-type workers staying here and they hung around outside most of the night. I would've slept in the truck but it didn't seem safe.
Neither of us would sleep under the covers or use the pillows. Horrible night & couldn't wait to get out of there.
Keep driving to Lamar or stop before Eads.
