My 2 friends and I stayed here this Sept. This hotel was great!!! The rooms were large and spotless. We stayed in the 1 bdrm. and it was plenty big for 3 adults. Two shared the bed and 1 slept on the sofabed.

The breakfast buffet was great- eggs, potatoes, breakfast meats and also cereal, muffins, fruit, and juices. Each room has a full sized kitchen. It's 1/2 mile walk to town or a 1 min. drive. There's also a trolly out front, but it runs hourly. They also has happy hour munchies and fresh baked cookies.

The staff was very helpful and this property was well kept. We will definitely stay here again. Also, pets are allowed but require a huge deposit.

Our plan was to mix a little business and the railroad over two days. After reading many of the reviews, I settled on this property. It seemed to be the right mix of good location, good management and satisfied customers. Our experience was close to the reviews.

The hotel itself is perfectly located just west of downtown Durango. You could leave your vehicle here, walk or ride the bus into town. The area is quiet and the hotel is set back from the highway. They have plenty of parking on three sides of the hotel.

We arrived late in the afternoon. The front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Our room on the third floor was large with a king and a large sofa bed, full kitchen, large bathroom and flat screen tv. Housekeeping was excellent.

The next day we enjoyed the breakfast -- many choices hot and cold. The food staff was busy but somewhat cold. Food was good to very good.

On departure, I found the front desk staff to be indifferent. We discovered the rear trash can on its side and contents spread around - probably a bear -- a big problem in Durango. I reported this to the front desk and someone took care of this right away.

Despite a few glitches, I found this hotel a good choice for business, family travel and tourists.

Neat & professional desk staff did job well but were not friendly. Most were college students who seemed perturbed that I was interupting their studies. Location is ok, but "on the other side of the hill & river' from all the activity. Hotel is relatively new and seems well maintained. Requested a room with 2 beds - they count the hide-a-bed as one. Would return if necessary, but saw several other preferable places worth looking into first. Business center is tiny, uncomfortable, and directly inside front door.

Travelled to Durango for the train ride. This place is about a 15 minute walk away. Had to walk along busy highway, and it was out of sight from happenings downtown which I didn't care for. Would have preferred to be a little closer to the action, so to speak. Other than that, room was large, clean. Breakfast was hearty. Staff friendly and helpful.
