“Good room when you can't spend too much!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

I was a bit concerned about staying at this motel because the reviews on the Internet were very varied. The front desk staff was excellent. They always tried to please and were very friendly and polite. When we first entered the room, the rug had not been vacuumed. I checked the rest of the room thoroughly and it was clean.

The free breakfast opens at 7:00 A.M. I would have preferred 6:30 a.m. It was standard motel breakfast food...waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, danish, fruit. All the items were fresh. The coffee was very good and always hot.

The towels in this hotel need to be replaced. They are old and some were torn or had holes. This was a big turnoff for me. I don't mind if the towel isn't expensive, but it should at least not look like it was used to wash the car.

The bed linens looked rather new, but the comforter's were old and need to be replaced. The mattress was comfortable. The TV was new, but the volume comes on full blast, so watch out!

This hotel has paper thin walls and windows. You could hear every single sound everywhere. Luckily, most of the occupants were older adults and so it wasn't a problem at night.

After the first night, we complained about the rug in our room not being vacuumed. The room was impeccably clean for the rest of our stay. They must use a spray because the room always smelled good.

Newspapers are available in the lobby, but only about four--so hurry if you want one. Coffee is available in the lobby all day. It tasted fresh even in the late afternoon. WiFi is free, but as others have said, it is extremely slow at night--or it doesn't work at all.

On the whole, I would stay there again because the price is right and Durango is a very expensive town for motel/hotels.

This hotel was a good value. The room was clean. Definately no frills though. The air conditioner was rather noisy. The wifi didn't work at night. Hotel staff was nice. Not very much offered on the breakfast.

2nd stay at this property , As always they delivered a clean basic room although now have a 32 flat screen tv added, . Good value in a rather pricey town . Ok breakfast just waffles, muffins 2 kinds of cereal. But I'm in Durango for the outdoors so need a clean place to stay and they fufill the need! Will stay again!

“Three Days In Durango”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

It wasn't a terrible hotel stay for 3 days, breakfast was free & the staff was very friendly & helpful, but why do all travel lodges rooms smell like musty carpet, that place needed a Febreze bomb in the worst way, so take some with you. I am surprised its under the Wyndham Hotel umbrella chain of hotels, its very outdated & not one of the nicer places we stayed on our vacation, but unless you want to may 150 to 250 per night, this was typical for the Durango area when we were booking our hotels.
The best hotel on our trip by surprise was the Baymont Inn & Suites in Cortez, Colorado, We started our trip in Telluride, went to Durango, then Cortez & back to Phoenix area.

Room Tip: Stay upstairs or end units, less noise, its like being in a very cheap apartment, you hear every noi...

“Hotel is adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

Room is adequate, bed and linens are in need of replacement. Chairs in room were very stained. Hotel staff is very nice and accommodating. I made a mistake in arrival date and they were able to place us in a room despite being full. They also honored the agreed price for a smaller room than the one we stayed in.
They do accept pets and have a one-time pet fee.
