We stayed here as part of a package that included the train and a Mesa Verde tour. I was told that the hotel was being renovated and was guaranteed a track side renovated room. I guess there are degrees of renovations. The main area of the room could be considered renovated and I guess the second bedroom upstairs. However, the bathroom was not part of the renovation. They had 2 older sinks in a small counter which left almost no counter space. There was no stopper for the drain in one of the sinks. The one sink appeared to be an after thought. When I asked, they assured me that it was a renovated room. There is no hair dryer in the room. You must ask for one at the office. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was OK. Muffins, bagels, juice and coffee. The breakfast room appears to be renovated and was quite large. There is also a laundry room. The property is on the outskirts of town and if I had know its location, would not have stayed there. It was a nice quiet area but with a short time in Durango, would have preferred someplace in town. Would probably not stay here again.
