“Fantastic Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Lightner Creek Inn is a perfect place to stay in Durango, CO (our stay was from 12/26-12/31). The location was super convenient to ski Purgatory and was close enough to downtown that we could run back and forth in minutes to shop and dine. Too, we were able to sled and build a snow fort on the expansive lawn behind the Inn. The 3 rooms that we occupied were so comfortable and relaxing and coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and home baked treats were available at any time. And, we can't say enough about the gourmet breakfasts served each morning. Absolutely delicious and there's not a better way to start the day. We've stayed at B & B's in several states and can honestly say that Marvin and Patra have made Lightner Creek one of the best. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

“Lovely Inn - Beautiful Setting - Great Innkeepers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Thank you, Marvin and Patra, for your hospitality. The conversation was stimulating, the breakfasts were delicious, the setting was soul soothing and the inn was like home. Perfectly located in the country on a quiet road but just a few minutes from the bright lights of Durango. If you want a beautiful restful place, this is it. And take Marvin's advice about the hiking trails just up the road.

“Wow, what a great location, wish I was there now!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

I understand this b+b changed hands at the beginning of 2011. We visited under the new owners who were exeptional hosts with everything thought of, fresh cookies, snacks and coffee available through the day. The most stunning surroundings with lots of outdoor sitting space and a beautiful guest lounge. The breakfasts were high quality with something different freshly cooked every day, I don't usually eat hot breakfast but found myself drawn in! Durango had a vast selection of restaurants and we had a good meal at Ken and Sues. The Silverton train was worth every penny and we suffered the cold in an outdooor gondola which gave us the best views and photo opportunities. Would happily go back and wished we had been staying longer.

“wonderful country B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

Marvin and Patra have gone out of their way to make this Inn the perfect "get a way" The location is idyllic, surrounded by mountains and trees, giving such a feeling of calm; and yet so close to Durango, where there is so much to see and do. Convenient for visiting Mesa Verde National Park and the Duarango/ Silverton oldtime steam train. Durango has some good shops and restaurants This B&B is real value for money. The Inn is well appointed, with a magnificent sitting room and dining room, and the bedrooms are very comfortable.
If you want a really good pizza, go to "Home Slice" on College East.
We highly recommend this charming B&B.

“Durango Canyon Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My wife and I spent two nights at Lightner Creek Inn. It is situated in a narrow canyon about 10 minutes west of down town Durango. We had a room in the main house (about $100/night) and were delighted with our stay. Great breakfast, good coffee anytime, bring a bottle of wine and sit out back and enjoy the aspens and canyon vista. Our hosts were most accommodating, offering us free access to the refrigerator for breakfast since we were leaving at 4:00am on our last day. We will stay at the Lightner Creek Inn any time we visit the Durango area.
