“Horrible Service, Run down rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

The service at the lodge was so bad that by the end of our stay it was almost comical. We were part of a wedding party and had a block of rooms reserved. Some people didn't get into their rooms until midnight because the lack of organization caused reservations to be lost. The rooms were not taken care of, we didn't have trash bags, extra toilet paper or kleenex (we were in a 3 bedroom condo), some rooms you had to use a PLUNGER to flush the toilet every time. For the price these rooms are HORRIBLE. I'm local and I will never, never, never advise anyone to stay at Cascade. I will never recommend anyone to host a wedding at Cascade.

“Tranquility & comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

Stayed in unit 346, a one bedroom self-contained unit (note that units are individually owned so can vary in quality). Nice, traditional decor and everything needed for a comfortable stay + King size bed! Was very quiet, and soaking in the hot tub at 9:30pm (with the snow falling) after our long drive was pure bliss. Only 2 miles from ski resort (and free shuttle). It is 30 mins from Durango so better if you want to take advantage of the kitchen amenities and shop in Durango before heading up the mountain. We'll be back!

“Great Views and Quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

The condos are individually owned so request an A unit. They differ considerably. The resort has been redecorated since my last visit.
It is located one mile from the ski lifts with with shuttles to and from the resort durming ski season.
There are many hiking trails nearby, some you can walk to from Cascade.
They have hot tubs, indoor pool, saunas, gym, activity room ( pool tables, games) lodge, and facilities for weddings etc. All units have some sort of kitchen facilities even the studio (whitch is a bargain).
Any review before 2008 do not reflect the current condition of the resort.

“Beware”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2009

My husband and I recently rented a one-bedroom unit at Cascade Village for 4 nights for our anniversary getaway. However, we left after 3 nights and moved to a hotel. There were numerous problems with the unit we rented, some only minor inconveniences and some ridiculous. The carpeting was filthy, stained and dirty. The couch was dirty and sagging. No dishwasher, no oven, and a tiny little box of a refrigerator with freezer space that held two ice cube trays. The weather was hot, and there was no air conditioning or windows or even a ceiling fan in the upstairs loft bedroom. The first night we hardly slept at all. The next day we got a fan from the folks at the front desk. Our unit was on the third floor and there is no elevator, so we had to haul our luggage up many flights of steps. There were a few positive aspects: the indoor pool is beautiful and well-maintained, the view of the mountains was nice, the people at the desk were nice. Also, we were able to use the gym at Purgatory Mountain, and that was great. However, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it.

“Peaceful and quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2009

We loved our stay at the Cascade Village. The only thing I would suggest to those who have never been there is to be prepared. The nearest breakfast facility is 24 miles away. There is a gas stattion and store a few miles from there but prices were very high. Over $8 for a pack of bacon. Other than that this place was very nice. Very clean and well taken care of.
