We stayed two nights during early December. The employee at the front desk has zero personality and really needs some training on how to properly greet your guests. Our room had a great view, was clean, and had a coffee maker and refrigerator. However, the walls are paper thin and allow every noise to be heard from adjacent rooms. This hotel is definitely more like a Motel. The rooms need a renovation to include additional insulation and thicker walls. The heating is a very old furnace type that takes forever to warm up your room. No air conditioning in these rooms either. The continental breakfast was very good though. This is a Terrific location that deserves better lodging accomodations. I have never stayed a a Best Western that is so similar to a motel.

My daughter and I stayed at the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge in Dillon, Colorado. We stayed one night during the lull between the spectacular fall foliage season and serious snowfall donned the mountains. A stroll on the rocky shoreline of Lake Dillon provided spectacular reflections of the clouds on the lake. Being within an easy drive to eateries and coffee shops, our stay was in a perfect location. The only downside was the persistent odor of an air freshener in our room. We are both sensitive to perfumes, so found ourselves with stuffed up nasal passages in reaction to the odor. However, leaving a window ajar overnight seemed to help.

A nice room, a fine view over lake Dillon, a spacious hot-tub, and even a sauna. It could have been a nice stay. But it was the worst night of our trip. The rooms have no AC, and although the outside temperature drops considerably at night, the rooms stay very hot inside. A small ceiling fan can't handle that heat.

The worst part was the indifference of the staff the next morning: I could have asked for a large windows fan.....

Next time I'll surely select a hotel with AC, even high in the mountains.

I booked this hotel because of the stellar reviews that Tripadvisor gave it. I have to say that when we pulled up, I was embarrassed to have brought my family here. My wife said, "ummm. What?" and my 4 year old daughter said "daddy! this is a MO-tel not a HO-tel!" I was blown away by that one.

Beautiful lake across the street but this is the most basic place you could reasonably stay. Nothing like a nice Hampton for instance. This is a basic motel, basic people, cramped little kitchen area with a little breakfast setup. HINT: get breakfast across the parking lot in the little restaurant. ITS AMAZING!
