This came up in a last minute search as a close place to DIA. In reality, stay in one of the Tower Road hotels instead, they're half the distance. In traffic Aurora isn't super close, but yes, it is outside the city.
The shuttle is SLOW! The hotel told me on the phone that it comes every 20 minutes, but in reality it comes every 45 minutes. You'll see PLENTY of other hotel shuttles driving by you REPEATEDLY while you wait for the Comfort Inn shuttle. Don't make this mistake, call one of those other hotels instead. In particular the Holiday Inn, Courtyard family (Marriott), and Hampton Inn shuttles came by very frequently.
The hotel was in need of repair, the room was worn, but the bed and pillows were comfortable. Sheets seemed clean, bed spread was not. Bed skirt was partially torn off, the window blind was falling down and the carpet was dirty. The hallways smelled like smoke, but the rooms did not.
The breakfast wasn't bad, though, considering the hotel. I've had worse. They had eggs, sausage, fresh made waffles and the usual continental items. It wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed, but for the $80 they charged, I'm guessing you can find a lot of other options in the area that might be newer, cleaner and with better shuttle service.
