I am not a harsh reviewer of hotels in general, as my standards are pretty reasonable. As such, I don't find myself giving many hotels two stars, but I am going to do so for this hotel.
As far as I can tell, the only reason anyone ends up staying here is by bidding on a 3-star hotel in Southeast Denver on Priceline. I was able to stay two nights for under $90 using Priceline, so it's definitely not an expensive place to stay. Here are the problems:
1) Front desk is awful. It's staffed by what appear to be recent or current high school students who don't know how to provide even a semblance of service.
2) The room felt like a basesment. It was small, had an old TV, had a bathroom that felt like it was taken out of a dorm, and had an air conditioner that could not blow anything but lukewarm air.
3) The hotel is laid out in this complicated, labyrinthine way that makes it hard to find anything.
4) On one of the nights that I stayed, the place was packed by drunk Dallas Cowboys fans on their way to a Denver Broncos game. Literally, there were people walking around with beers in their hand. [There also happened to be a dog convention there, so there were also random people with dogs walking around too].
The only upside that I can think of to this place is that it's about 30 minutes from the airport and it's within walking distance of the Bagel Deli, a superb Jewish deli.
I'm sorry if this review comes off as harsh or even snobbish, but I just expect a *little* more from Sheraton. I've stayed at Four Points in the past in other cities so I know about what to expect. This place was so bad that I was almost tempted to write to Sheraton to tell them about my experience.
