Osteria clearly is a popular hangout. Prices reasonable(for trendy LODO), good service. We returned and , following comments of others, tried their Pizza with goat cheese and figs. It was nice-hardly the best I have had, though. We brought 1/2 home for another time. My wife has scallops. The 4 were large and good quality. she was happy. I had Eggplant Parmesan and saved 1/2 as it is just too seasoned and rich for one sitting for me. We shared a salad-generous portion , but I'd suggest getting the dressing on the side. It was drowning in seasoned oil and not how we like our greens. This seems to be characteristic of many good but not great restaurants-an excess of rich sauces to please the palate. We tried the fruit tart (the Chef's dessert). disappointing-basically applesauce in a small crust with about 4 blueberries--and we thought the fruit tart at the height of berry season would be more than that--and $7. skip the dessert-you likely will consume 1500 calories at the dinner. we'll return but remember what we don't like.
