This hotel is tired. The AC/heat does not work well in the rooms. Bathrooms are tired and in need of updating. Maid service is terrible. They don't clean the rooms well and the rooms I have stayed in are somewhat dirty. At best this is a 2 1/2 star property as I have stayed there several times. The location is good, meeting areas are good, but the restaurant is dreadful. Worth about $40-50 a night. I stay there for the location only. Get an inside room or you will hear trains going by every night.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete a review on our property and for all of the candid feedback you shared about your stay with us. Our entire staff recognizes you have many options to choose from when traveling to the Denver area and we certainly appreciate your patronage of the Red Lion Denver Central.

Please accept my sincere apology that our housekeeping and engineering was less than satisfactory and we did not meet your expectations. Certainly our Housekeeping staff should have been more diligent when cleaning and inspecting prior to your arrival. There is absolutely no excuse for malfunctioning AC/heating units in the guest room.

I can readily understand your disappointment with our hotel. We value you as a guest and I do want you to know your concerns are our concerns. I have personally addressed the all of the issues note in your review with my staff. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly to me should if you any other question, concerns or would like to discuss with me in person

“Comes up on Priceline a Lot”

Although they've done some renovating in recent years, this is basically a crew airport hotel, except it's not close to DIA. Rooms are okay, but there is nothing special about this place. Lots of shopping nearby, but not really a neighborhood that you'd want to walk around a lot by yourself. It's just not quaint. Fairly good value for your money, but if you have a choice, I would stay somewhere else. It's just not going to be on your top 10 list ever.

“So bummed because we couldn't sleep well”

We stayed here for 3 days while we were in town for the Bronco's game. The hotel didn't look so hot from the outside but when you walk in it was quite nice. The front desk clerks were very friendly. The rooms weren’t bad. We could tell that it was an older hotel as we walked to our room but once we got in the room we were shocked to see that it actually looked nice. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. BUT – It smelled musty and we could tell that whoever cleaned it last was in a hurry because they missed a few spots. Left over eating utensils was left in one of the drawers and the bathroom shower had several long strings of black hair in it (not ours - but we just rinsed it down). We figured not a huge deal because other than that it appeared to be clean. There is a shopping center that is within walking distance so we walked over there, ate, shopped, picked up a scented candle to get rid of the musty odor in our room and then walked back. (Very convenient since we did not have a car) I really want to give a better rating because the staff was so nice, the room service was awesome and the location was good, BUT I can’t because WE COULDN’T SLEEP! The hotel is located right near a train track and we had a lovely view of a Taxi cab/shuttle bus depot that was very loud as well in the wee hours of the morning. If you are a very heavy sleeper and I mean very heavy then you will be fine. Or maybe take ear plugs?

“Average hotel but not bad”

We were on a forced stay in Denver because of airline troubles and they put us up at the Red Lion airport hotel. The hotel is a huge hotel about 30 minutes from the airport (they have a shuttle every half hour) that has had some recent renovations. The lobby is well appointed and the front desk staff courteous considering our late night arrival. The rest of the hotel is adequate. The rooms have been updated but there is still lots of signs of the older hotel under the surface. Despite that, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast buffet was fine.

Wow I was just looking through and ran into the reviews of this hotel and I am very suprised and happy to see that the manager of this hotel actually takes his time to reply to each individual review! This is definitely an example of an excellent customer service. I've never stayed at this hotel, but I will check it out next time I will be in Denver. Keep it up Matthew! :)
