“nice room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

we got the king sized bedroom, and found a newly remodeled bath and the room was furnished with cable TV and the bed was very comfortable. The hallways are narrow, but for the age of the buildings it adds ambiance. They also have a parking garage so if it snows or the weather is unpleasant you don't have to get out in it.

Room Tip: go for the king size it is larger than the single.

“Nice place right in the middle of Cripple Creek”

Great location, easy walking distance to all the Casinos. Right upstairs from J.P. McGills. Park on 4th floor of parking garage behind the casino/hotel for easy access. If you don't have a player's card, they offer the player's card rate, and just show them the player's card before you check out and you get the discount.

We had a king room and requested an outside room with window. No problem with receiving our request upon check in on a Friday afternoon. It had a view looking across the main street.

We stayed two nights; for each night they give you a $5.50 coupon per person for a meal at either the JP restaurant, Dynamite Dick's, or the Miner's Pick. We used both coupons at the JP McGill's restaurant. One for lunch, and one for breakfast. Both were good meals.

Standard King Room is recently updated and clean. Good sheets and comforter on a king bed in our room. Small table with two chairs, nightstands, dresser with flat screen TV. About 40 channels. Open closet with hanging room.

Bathroom has single sink with lots of counter space. Tub/shower combo that has pretty good shower pressure.

Only problem we had was that after we came in from dinner/gambling our first night the security latch had somehow latched itself shut! Had to call maintenance, and he said it is not the first time it has happened. There might have been a little prankster ghost playing around in our room! But maintenance guy fixed it adeptly (he had done it before!)

All and all, I think this is a great location, nice room, very clean, and would recommend.

Pictures posted.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room with a window when you make your reservation.

“Ehhh. Not impressed. Sorry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011 via mobile

We stayed in late August with temps being very mild during the day and cool at night. Not so much for our $113 dollar room. It was very stuffy and hot. The window that opened to a wall, gave the room a very dungeonous feeling. The staff was friendly and the town is awesome. We did get the feeling of being watched ( in a ghostly way). Would probably try someplace else next time.

“Air conditioner nonfunctional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

Hotel was clean, the front desk staff was very polite, the location is convenient. However, our room was in the center of the building so did not have a window. Usually this isn't a problem, but the air conditioner was not functioning, so the room was about 80 degrees while it was in the 60's outside. If we could have opened a window, there would not have been a problem. We told the night manager that the a/c was not working - and he said it was because someone took the controls off of auto but he also said that if our air conditioner was not working, no one elses would be either because the ac was on the roof. He "reset" our thermostat and then said if it didn't get cool in about 30 minutes to let him know - it did not and we did not.

If you like to sleep in a hot room, you won't have issues with this hotel, but if you like to sleep in a cool room, don't stay here in the summer.

“Ripped Off by the Hotel Before We Ever Got to the Casino!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

Bait & Switch – Went for a weekend getaway with family and booked on the telephone over a month in advance...the internet reservations was being updated and not working at the time…but was assured over the telephone that the rate was $99.99/night with a 10% players card discount. On arrival at the hotel this weekend we were informed that the rate was actually $114.99/night with a 10% players card discount…both desk managers did not even listen to my concerns regarding this last minute change in price…so you should expect to get your Bait & Switch policies published on the internet.
