“Fancy, Fun, Fabulous...our favorite Colorado get away :)”

Having stumbled upon the Ruby in January of 2011, my boyfriend and I could not wait to make the trip a sweet-treat tradition :). Therefore, having just returned from Crested Butte (we stayed two nights at the Ruby), I find myself inspired to write about this jewel (no pun intended), and highly recommend you fall in love with it as we did.

To put it plainly, Andrea and Chris have "Bed and Breakfast" down to an art. Waiting for guests are warmly colored rooms, each with a vase of fresh roses, Ghirardelli chocolates, and wine glasses to use for the “guest-trade” wine/beer fridge (an antique coca-cola refrigerator, might I add). The house is snuggly and warm on a cold snowy day and the ambiance (thanks in part to the lovely interior decorating) makes one feel this is “home-sweet-home.” Activities include watching movies (either in your room or in the movie room), steaming up the hot tub room ;-), lounging in the provided plush robes, or enjoying the company of Andrea and other amiable guests over a FABULOUS gourmet breakfast (lattes made to order!).

*Mention the Ruby’s famous cinnamon-rolls here*

The occasion for our trip this January was my darling boyfriend’s birthday. I wised to re-create the magic of our first trip, and Andrea helped me do this seamlessly…everything from a surprise cake and birthday wishes to helping us reminisce the details of our last stay- what an amazing memory this woman has!!).

As you can tell, the Ruby is very dear to our hearts. Therefore, I hope to see their business flourish and for YOUR next trip to be enhanced by this unique and charming B&B.

Love,
Amanda and Chris

PS. Make sure to ask about skiing discounts and what Andrea recommends to do around town (i.e. shops or places to eat).

“Wonderful B&B”

My husband and I have just returned to the Savannah area following a wonderful, Winter Respite at The Ruby of Crested Butte, Colorado! The owners and staff went above and beyond the call of duty making us feel at home and assisting us in planning Winter Adventures to fully experience what we called our "Colorado Winter Sampler". With their assistance, and aided by the good rapport they have developed with other area businesses, we were able to enjoy skiing, dogsledding, snowmobiling and horseback riding while there. Additionally, they were at the ready to assist us in making dinner reservations, when needed. (Lunches were a moot point, as the delicious breakfasts served daily carried us until dinner time)...we actually purchased a lunch only once in our 8 days there, and that in the midst of an all day ski lesson. The thoughtful attention given to guests (my husband's birthday was during our week there and he had a mini-cake and card in the room upon our arrival), is undoubtedly the reason for so many RETURN visitors. Of all the guests coming and going during our stay, we were the only "first timers". It is understandable why they receive the repeat business, as we are hoping for many more trips there, as well. Andrea, Chris, Cassie & John...thank you for all your efforts in making this trip among, if not THE best, vacation Chuck & I have shared.

“Wonderful hospitality”

We had a lovely time here. Fantastic breakfasts every morning (super tasty, but also high in protein which is perfect for a long day of skiing), 1/2 block to the bus to the mountain, lovely hot tub for post-ski relaxation, great library of DVDs (my daughter and I watched The Princess Bride), and the best hospitality you can imagine. The owner and the innkeeper could not have been more helpful, even lending us a power supply for our computer when ours went kaput. Definitely the place to stay, in the best town in Colorado.

“The Ruby--our favorite of all!”

Staying at The Ruby has become an annual trip for us. It is the perfect get-away--so comfortable and clean, and each room is unique and lovely. The breakfasts are amazing--always fresh squeezed OJ and so gourmet. We love to visit with the inn-keepers and staff. They are so personable and knowledgable about the area. It's proximity to downtown (walking distance) and great hiking/running trails is awesome. Every detail is tended to--down to fresh roses in every room. We cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: Every room is unique and all are quiet and comfortable.

“The Perfect Getaway”

My wife and I stayed at the Ruby for the second time and both trips were wonderful. It is the most comfortable Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed. My wife loves the rooms. The beds are great and the breakfast is even better! It was also fun to explore Crested Butte on the complimentary bikes. Crested Butte is a great place to get away, but the Ruby is what makes it so comfortable and relaxing. The service is so exceptional that it feels like spending time with friends instead of staff who are "required" to be available. There are plenty of Band B's located in great places in Colorado, but we love the Ruby the most. You have to experience it!
