Having stumbled upon the Ruby in January of 2011, my boyfriend and I could not wait to make the trip a sweet-treat tradition :). Therefore, having just returned from Crested Butte (we stayed two nights at the Ruby), I find myself inspired to write about this jewel (no pun intended), and highly recommend you fall in love with it as we did.
To put it plainly, Andrea and Chris have "Bed and Breakfast" down to an art. Waiting for guests are warmly colored rooms, each with a vase of fresh roses, Ghirardelli chocolates, and wine glasses to use for the “guest-trade” wine/beer fridge (an antique coca-cola refrigerator, might I add). The house is snuggly and warm on a cold snowy day and the ambiance (thanks in part to the lovely interior decorating) makes one feel this is “home-sweet-home.” Activities include watching movies (either in your room or in the movie room), steaming up the hot tub room ;-), lounging in the provided plush robes, or enjoying the company of Andrea and other amiable guests over a FABULOUS gourmet breakfast (lattes made to order!).
*Mention the Ruby’s famous cinnamon-rolls here*
The occasion for our trip this January was my darling boyfriend’s birthday. I wised to re-create the magic of our first trip, and Andrea helped me do this seamlessly…everything from a surprise cake and birthday wishes to helping us reminisce the details of our last stay- what an amazing memory this woman has!!).
As you can tell, the Ruby is very dear to our hearts. Therefore, I hope to see their business flourish and for YOUR next trip to be enhanced by this unique and charming B&B.
Love,
Amanda and Chris
PS. Make sure to ask about skiing discounts and what Andrea recommends to do around town (i.e. shops or places to eat).
