“Great Accommodation - Great Mountain Views - Near The Lifts”

What a wonderful experience we had at one of the Telemark units. It has a fantastic view of Copper Mountain and Ten Mile Range. We relaxed in the hot tub watching the sunset. The unit has been totally renovated and has every amenity one can wish for. We enjoyed sipping cocktails in front of the fire place, watching hikers and bikers coming down the mountain, cook our favorite meals and get a relaxing night time sleep.

The Telemark's common areas, such as the lobby, the hot tub area, the covered parking, the private ski lockers, the bar-b-q area are certainly above average compared to other condo buildings.

I am very comfortable to say that the location of the unit would not be exposed to "smelly fish" and "tobacco smoke", and certainly does have all the upgrades that clearly separates the unit from the ones mentioned in the Trip Advisor (i.e. new plumbing, new fixtures, new floors, new kitchen and appliances, new bedding and mattresses, new European Shower, new lighting, new window coverings, new Quartz counter tops, etc.).

The reason we picked the Telemark over the other Copper Mountain buildings, is its location (away from bar, restaurant, music noise, but in walking distance to everything), it is made of concrete (much more quiet and sturdy than if it is made of wood framing), the mountain views (from our unit and from the hot tub), the parking (secure and covered), and the hot tub.

“Another great stay”

This was our second trip to Copper Mountain this year and our second stay at Telemark Lodge. The first time was for spring skiing and most recently a long weekend over the Labor Day holiday. We loved it. The room we stayed in was apparently renovated recently, it had stainless steel appliances, new carpet, bedding, paint, etc.. The queen wall bed unit was brand new and so was the mattress. It was a pillow top and more comfortable than the one we have at home. The bathroom was a slightly dated, but very clean and everything worked fine. The views were spectacular and this location is awesome, walking distance to center village (which has tons of very fun family activities), ski lifts, endless bike trails, horseback riding, and also the brand new Woodward indoor fun park!!. All littereally just steps away from the Telemark building, also the Village has a star-b coffe shop, groceries, shopping, etc.. All of the comon areas in this building are very clean in good shape. In regards to some of the negative reviews on this property ... I did get the impression that not all of the Condo units in this building are equal. We walked by one of the units on our floor in which the door was proped wide open by housekeeping staff and the interior finishes appeared different than what we had in our unit, and not quite as nice. Perhaps Copper Lodging should re-evaluate how these rentals are handled, maybe they should be rated by each individual unit and not by the building as a whole. However we either "got lucky" twice in a row, or most of the units are in excellent condition. I would reccomend that anyone who has concerns voice them at the time of check-in, or pick up the house phone and request a different unit immediately. We had a blast at Copper Mountain once again!!!!

“College dorm room with all the odor of last nights beer blast!”

My wife and I were thoroughly disgusted by this place. It was not clean, there was no cleaning service in the 5 days we were there. It was abnormally warm so we had to open the windows, the screens were broken, the fans were broken the toilet leaked, It smelled like a college dorm room.

Copper mountain as a whole was fantastic, the village, the restaurants, the energy, everything was fantastic outside of the rooms.

“We loved it!”

Having skied Copper a number of times before, we have learned to book with a private owner rather than the resort and have not been disappointed since. This year the unit we had (505) was clean, well appointed and just right for our family. The bay window faced the slopes and it was great to come in from skiing, sit by the fireplace and watch the mountain activity. It was an easy walk to the slopes and into town for shopping and eating. We had a indoor garage, ski locker and an elevator to get to the top floor. The queen bed upstairs as well as the queen Murphy bed were comfortable and our youngest son (6) used one of the cots the owners made available. The price was very reasonable compared to the price quoted by the resort for a similar condo. It was also nice to be a little further from Center Village where we were last year and the party noise.
The downside was that we had two cars but could only park one in the garage. We had to park the other in the day lot at the other end of the resort. We are making plans for next ski season now and this condo or another privately owned and managed one like it will be our first choice.

“Don't waste your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2009

We stayed at the Telemark one night. We ended up here last minute after the friend's condo we were going to stay in became unavailable. We paid $180 to stay in a one bedroom unit which included bunk beds, a queen size murphy bed and a twin sized pull out sofa. The layout was great for our family of five and the kitchen was nice to have to heat up a frozen pizza for dinner. However, the smell of cigarette smoke was so strong, the room was almost uninhabitable. When we first entered the room, we thought we could just open the windows and air it out. It didn't help. We called for housekeeping to come spray Febreze or something not once, not twice, but three times. No one ever came. Apparently, guest requests are not accommodated when guests are in Copper Mountain's lowest level accommodations. The room had a sign on the door indicating it was a non-smoking room. The smell was concentrated in the entry area where the bunk beds were and where the bathroom was. The smell was so bad in that area we held our breaths when we used the bathroom. One of my sons ended up sleeping on the floor by us because he couldn't stand the cigarette smell in the bunk area. We couldn't figure out if the smell was from the previous guests or possibly from the unit below ours and coming in through the vents. Either way, it was disgusting.

It's really disappointing that the room smelled so bad, but doubly disappointing that our requests were ignored. We live in Colorado and ski Copper every year. Copper is a wonderful ski resort with great employees. We will continue to ski there, but will never again waste our money staying at the Telemark.
