I stayed at this motel purely based on price and location. It is an older “highway motel” probably dating back to the 1950’s or 1960’s. It has been renovated, but room sizes and layouts vary. I asked for a quite room and they honored my request by putting me way in the back (see pictures). The TV and internet were both very good, but the bathroom in my room was very small with no counter space. The area is a little seedy, but you have quick and easy access to many stores and restaurants along with downtown Colorado Springs. The pool area was very nice, but it was a little cool for swimming. I’m not sure I would come here with a family. My room was clean at first, but I later found ants in the bathroom. I don’t think they mopped the bathroom floor or vacuumed the carpet while I was there. Ice is 25 cents, yes they charge for ice. There is a lot of train noise at night, the tracks are about ½ mile away, and you can hear the horns. You can walk to Wendy’s, KFC and Taco Bell, with other eating places within 1 mile. Breakfast was basic, the bread was good, but I usually ate at Denny’s or Village Inn on Lake Street. The lock to my room stopped working one night, and we had to “break in” using a master key, it was fixed the next day, but I couldn’t leave my room until it was fixed Price for room 127 was $45 plus 5 separate taxes totaling about 10% plus a $1.50 safe charge that was not mentioned when I checked in. I’d probably stay here again, it was acceptable for my needs and the location is really great.
