“Enjoyed Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I think that the Double Tree makes for an overall nice hotel and I think is worthy of a 4 star rating, despite otherwise on some sites. The hotel has a very open feel, with a big lobby, and often plays hosts to meetings and conferences.

Check in was very quick and easy. The hotel staff was courteous and offered a fresh backed cookie upon check in.

The rooms are comfortable and what you would expect. No surprises. Desk, flat screen TV. The bathroom was also very nice.

The only downside of this hotel is its not in the most exciting of locations. Its close to the downtown area, but definitely not in downtown. The hotel is relatively close to the airport and does offer a shuttle

Room Tip: Book on priceline or hotwire.

“Excellent DoubleTree”

Great staff and amenities.

Diamond Benefits: HUGE trail mix welcome gift with bottle water and excellent breakfast buffett vouchers.

Pros:
Full business center
Great workout room
Great location

Small Cons:

Some of the rooms are starting to show their age but overall this is a great place to stay. I've stayed here multiple times and the staff is always willing to go the extra mile in making sure everything is a "10."

“Great Doubletree Staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Stayed at the Doubletree Colorado Springs during a week-long business trip in Dec. While this hotel is a little dated furnishings-wise, the staff went overboard to make my stay great, from check-in, to breakfast staff, housekeeping. Everyone at the Doubletree Colorado Springs always had a smile and a hello to render, which makes the Doubletree Colorado Springs a super place to stay!!

“Deceitful on Company X-Mas Party”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Went for company Christmas Party and they told my organization that all employees attending the Christmas Party can stay in the hotel at a discounted rate. I have stayed at this hotel (same one) in the past and throughout various times in the year (to include most recently before the Christmas Party). The regular room rate is $79 and their "discounted" rate came out to $79. The room is average, nothing entirely special about it. It's location is not in the best of spots, there have been a lot of thefts from the movie theater that is approximately, 2 blocks away. It does sit right off the highway though, which is a good thing. The hotel itself is nice, it is awkward and difficult to navigate around. The hotel was built on a hill, so the floor you think the lobby would be at is not where is actually is, which can cause you to get lost. The drink prices were outrageous and the food was bland. Overall, I would only stay here if I absolutely had no choice in the matter and if someone else was paying for it. However, on the flip side of this, it is probably the nicest hotel in the immediate area of approximately, 2 mile radius. The next best thing is the Broadmoor for this area.

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

Really enjoyed this hotel. The staff were some of the most pleasent and helpful of any hotel I've stayed in. I stayed on one of the floors scheduled to be 'updated' next year. What surprized me was the room I had was truely very nice. One of the things I enjoyed most was the room was large and open. I don't care for hotels that choose to build a wall so they can say 'it's a 2 room suite', when really, it makes each room so small they're both uncomfortable. From what I understand, the 2nd and 5th floors have been redecorated, but again, my room on the 4th floor was beautiful. Would highly recommend this hotel when staying in the CO Springs area. Centrally located to pretty much everywhere. Shopping and eating all within walking distances.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard.
