“Excellent Stay at the Broadmoor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My family and I just returned from a weekend stay at the Broadmoor. We were also in town for the Pikes Peak Cup. I would highly recommend staying at there. From the time we pulled up to the property until the time we left we were treated with exceptional hospitality. My 8 year-old daughter refers to the Broadmoor as the "Palace". Great staff, and great service. We will be returning to stay at the Broadmoor.

Room Tip: We stayed in the West Tower and loved it. The west tower has a fire pit located outside the main lob...

“4 1/2 Stars”

We stayed at the Broadmoor to attend the Pikes Peak Cup.

Upon our arrival we were graciously greeted by the valet and doorman, and the front desk was incredibly polite. The front desk called a bellman to take us to our room. The doorman came right over, walked us to the door and pointed in the direction or our room. This is not what I expected.

When I entered the room I was amazed at the luxury. The bed had been turned down, there were chocolates on the pillow, dimmed lights, and soft classical music playing. It was gorgeous.

I put down my bags and went into the bathroom. It too was gorgeous; until I saw the long hair on the floor and in the sink. I went back into the room and started getting ready for bed. I decided to use the robe that had been draped across the bed, but it had dirt smeared across the front of it.

While there we also visited Charles Court for breakfast buffet. The buffet and location could not be beat but once again there were small problems. The server was very good but not "Broadmoor good". She struggled to provide the service expected and kept apologizing. Three other servers leaned against the serving stationing and watched her struggle and did not offer assistance.

Overall the experience good, but it is the small details that separate the 4 and 5 star resorts.

“Impeccable experience and old world class - one of the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

As with other true, large, independent 5-star/5-Diamond resort hotels (think The Biltmore or the Greenbriar), the Broadmoor is really in a class by itself. There are boutique and themed hotels and B&B’s out there that may offer a broader or even more luxury experience, but there are very few large hotels in the world that do Style like the Broadmoor. When you arrive at the Broadmoor, all is exactly as you would expect – a wealth of valets, doormen and bell hops will move you, your vehicle and your luggage around with ease, precision and class. The rooms are wonderful and we had a spectacular view of the Lake and all the activities in the inner portion of the grounds from our West Tower suite. We had a wonderful balcony, the amenities were perfect and the room was beautifully appointed. The grounds of the Broadmoor are breathtaking. The width and breadth of the property includes everything from a world renowned golf course, to multiple spas, a central lake and their own ski slope. The dining is arguably the best in Colorado and, most likely, in the whole of the Rockies, the concierge service is impeccable, the staff-to-guest ratio is astounding (it really seemed like there were more staff than guests!) and the grounds are so well kept, it is unlikely to see a leaf out of place. The attention to detail at a place like the Broadmoor is amazing. This is not an inexpensive hotel, but they do run a number of specials that keep many of their basic rooms out of the stratospheric price level, although, if have the money, they can cater you all the way up to private cottage residences on the property. While we have many other favorite hotels in the world that are specially designed to meet our unique tastes, staying in old-world classic luxury is very, very nice on occasion. There is nothing better in the area, so if you are looking for true 5-star accommodations, the Broadmoor is the place to go.

Room Tip: beg for a room with a balcony and lakeside view - it is worth it!

“the best in customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I just returned from a business trip to Colorado Springs and stayed at the beautiful Broadmoor. Yes, the property is lovely. Yes, they have spent in incredible amount of money in decor, room size, spa, golf course, convention facilities, numerous restaurants, etc. But the thing that to me was the most remarkable was the level of customer service evident in every employee of this fine resort. Everyone from the carpet sweepers in the middle of the night to the chambermaids working in the mornings smile and say "hello" to you as you move through this enormous property. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be of service and wants you to know how much you are appreciated as a guest. If you ask for directions, someone will stop what they are doing and accompany you to your destination. I had a meeting in the Golf Club and realized I had left some materials at the convention center on the other side of the resort. When I asked someone the fastest way to get to the convention center, a phone was whipped out and I heard, "Shuttle - Golf Club!" and immediately a shuttle appeared and took me to the convention center and returned me to my meeting - all within ten minutes.

I was standing in a hallway talking on the phone to my partner and telling him how much I was enjoying staying at the Broadmoor, but that I needed to call the front desk to let them know my TV remote was not working. When I got off the phone an employee approached me and said they happened to overhear me and saw my convention nametag, so he took the liberty of calling the maintenance department to replace my TV remote so it would be working when I returned to my room. See what I mean by REALLY incredible customer service?

Very large rooms with walk in closets, lovely amenities, comfortable beds and luxurious sheets; HUGE bathrooms with outstanding vanity supplies and plush towels; wonderful restaurants, a beautiful spa and pool, terrific car valet parking service, and perhaps the best customer service you can imagine anywhere. If you are in Colorado Springs you owe yourself a treat - stay at the Broadmoor.

Room Tip: If you have a choice, stay in the main building rather than the west building as the main is closer...
