“Great place to stay/close to attractions”

My husband, grandson and I stayed here for 5 days. We had a 2 bedroom suite and felt like we had a little apartment. It was close to Garden of the Gods and other attractions we visited. There was an Albertsons Grocery very close where we stocked up on groceries. That saved us on eating out. They did have a nice little free breakfast with muffins, fruit, cereal and juices. We paid $149 a night, which I thought was a bargain for the suite we had. The only complaint we had was with the water pressure in the shower. It barely came out, but once you got it going, it was okay.

Room Tip: get a room on the second floor if possible, as you can hear kids running around above you....if ther...

“Not a good value”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We paid about $200/night for a two room suite. The hotel was outdated and smelled aweful. Everytime someone flushed a toilet it echoed through our room, waking our one and three year old. We got a total of about 2 hours of sleep that night and had to switch hotels the next day. The couch and chair were both stained and the room in general was not clean. However, there was lots of space and the bathrooms were updated. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Dear JamiRols,
Thank you for submitting a review from your stay. I value all of the information provided by our guests; I find it to be a great way for us to find areas that need improvement as well as connect to our guests in order to find out what they value most in their hotel experience. This is the first time that I have heard that our toilets echo in the room; we will have to conduct a thorough test in our rooms to find those that may be affected this way. I thank you for bringing these items to my attention so I may address them with my staff. One of Marriott’s values is “impresses the guest” and we always strive to keep our guests happy. I do wish that I would have had the opportunity to speak with you in person prior to you checking out.
Best regards,
Shauna DeSousa

“Comfortable and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Our daughter goes to school at UCCS right down the road so we have had the opportunity to stay here multiple times. The location is unbeatable. My husband is a cyclist and is able to bike to the Garden of the Gods from the hotel parking lot and very good restaurants are close by. The Marigold is across the street. We like the ability to spread out, and have small meals cooked in the kitchenette when no one is interested in going out. The laundromat on site is also much appreciated and there is no waiting. Our only complaint is that the last two times we have stayed, the beds are a little soft. Maybe time for an upgrade?

“Great value, great staff, good place to stay in Colorado Springs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011 via mobile

This is a great place to stay, whether for business or pleasure. Hotel is located in a prime spot, between downtown and the USAF Academy. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The full kitchen is a plus, with a full size fridge, stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker, and dishwasher. The
Property grounds are well kept, and the pool was nice.
The only complaint was the breakfast. Very basic, with only fruit, cereal, and muffins. Basic continental breakfast. There is no sitting area, and the food is where the front desk is. It's kind of awkward getting food while people are checking in. That's the only complaint! Everything else was great. Thumbs up!

“nice and roomy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

This hotel has a lot of space. We had a room with seperate bedroom and then moved to a room where the bed was part of the room. Either way there is a ton of space. The kitchen if fully equipped and you can make a salad or steak, popcorn or coffee. The desk area is large and provides plenty of space for working.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows - that weird balled up stuff, but overall it's a great place to stay.
Breakfast is very basic, cereal and some fruit and no place to eat. Pool is small and there is a barbeque area near it if you want to do some grilling.
Several restaurants are close, Chipotle, Ruby Tuesday and a few others are walking distance.
For other hotels of this type this one was a little higher priced than the others.
