“Clean, good, but slow elevator and odd layout”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

No complaints of the lodging here. Offers the typical free service of the Drury Inn chain - my second stay at one, after my good experience at the one in Overland Park, KS - ie Kickback, soda, popcorn etc.

The property is rather oddly laid out with a slow elevator for the size of this place. The room was smaller than that offered in KS, but I guess property prices in Colorado Springs are a bit higher here.

It is surrounded by fast food restaurants, within walking distance. Gas and Walmart are nearby too. The location is therefore convenient.

Thank you for staying at Drury Inn Pikes Peak. We are glad you enjoyed the complimentary evening kickback, popcorn & soda. We are sorry you found the layout of our building odd and the elevator slow. Our properties vary in size and layout. Thank you again for staying with us. We hope to have you stay with us again in the near future.

“Great Stay with Bonus Happy Hour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Our room was very clean, comfortable and relaxing. They have a better than average complimentary breakfast, and they also have a complimentary evening beverage and snack service. WOW, what a nice perk. This was a very good location for us and plenty of other restaurants, shopping and site seeing around.

Room Tip: Don't get the rooms too close to the breakfast area

“Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We stayed here over December 9-December 11 to attend a family memorial service. It was a really tough time for my husband who had just lost his younger sister. This was my first time staying at a Drury Inn...usually we choose a little more upscale place, but due to budget constraints, we chose here instead and am I ever glad we did! From the time we checked in at the front desk, until the time we left, we encountered the friendliest staff. Honestly, nothing that you think is negative about this hotel will matter when you deal with the staff. They were all beyond just friendly...they actually seemed to care about us. When two of the employees learned that we were in town for the funeral service, they actually gave my husband a condolence card. How many ritzy hotels have you ever stayed at that would go that far to make your day? There was free breakfast (hot waffles, cereal, eggs, breads, sausage) and a free reception (including cocktails!) for a few hours at night that usually had finger foods and baked potatoes. We specifically dealt with Bryan (Assistant GM), Amy (GM) Melissa (who has the most infectious laugh and it was impossible to be in a bad mood around her) and Jessica. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend it. We will be staying here again, for sure! Oh, and yes...it's very accessible to the highway and close to a section of restaurants and a Wal-Mart. Also, just drive down Academy and you'll run into just about anything you would ever need....Starbucks, for us, was a lifesaver. ;)

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor towards the back of the hotel and although we didn't have a view o...

“Nice and Affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. For the budget conscious traveler this is a great place to stay. They provide breakfast and evening snacks that include hot items (e.g. hot chicken fingers). While it is not gourmet quality, it is good food and very helpful on the wallet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view and enjoy views of Pikes Peak.

“Great Stay with Bonus Dinner!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

We were pleasantly surprised to arrive at this Drury Inn after a long day's drive to discover that (a) they gave us a wonderful coupon rate for both of our rooms and (b) they were serving a dinner buffet that was included in the rate. Apparently, Drury provides not only breakfast, but dinner as well. The food was nothing fancy (salad, nachos, hot dogs, chicken), but we were starving, and it was so great to not have to unload and then get back in the car to go somewhere to eat. The food was hot and ready to go. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, what a step up from the experience we had the night before in Lincoln, Nebraska, and yet at Drury we were paying $5 less per room and getting 2 meals.

What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was super friendly from the front desk to the dining room. There was sort of a party atmosphere that they conveyed that was then adopted by the guests. People were talking to one another, making fun comments while getting their food and drinks, etc. This was a really terrific experience. I had never stayed with Drury before, but I'll definitely watch for them in the future.
