My family and I stayed at this Comfort Inn over Labor Day weekend, my family of four in one room, my sister in a King room next door. This is not up to what I normally experience at Comfort Inns. The staff was pleasant enough and our room was clean. So that right there is worth quite a bit. However there were other issues that left me thinking I won't be returning to this Comfort Inn anytime soon.

Wifi does not work that well. My son continued to lose his connection and finally gave up. My sister experienced the same.

Thank goodness it was not that hot outside or we would have been in trouble. The ac in the room didn't work well at all, and the hallways, lobby and breakfast room were all stuffy and uncomfortable.

The breakfast is a joke. The breakfast room has a few tables for four, the rest are long conference tables. Not a great selection, not kept stocked and not that clean. The waffle maker had so much gunk on it that frankly it was gross. The lady that worked the breakfast area was rude, the other staff around the hotel wer much nicer.

Pool area is so small if you put five people in the pool it would be crowded.

The furnishings were very worn out. The chair in my sister's room had holes in it and was filthy. It looked like something they had picked up at a garage sale!

The toiletries they provided were half empty. Obviously if someone only uses half, they simply leave those there. My sister also stayed there and her room had the same thing. I have never encountered half used toiletries before!

My best advice is to stay at the Hyatt Place off Garden of the Gods, the Holiday Inn Express off Woodmen or the Clarion off Bijou. All nearby, all much better, and all places I have stayed at in recent weeks.

My son and I stayed at the Comfort Inn North in Colorado Springs, CO for one night this week. Thieves broke into my truck and another vehicle that night. All of our backpacking gear and a pair of prescription sunglasses were stolen. The employee that cleaned up the broken glass informed me that there were vehicle break-ins the previous week, too.

All the front desk people had to do was inform guests that there had been vehicle break-ins in the parking lot and we could have brought our belongings into the rooms . I've traveled all over the US and never had a single problem with theft until this trip.

Also, the beds had bedbugs! I have bites all over my legs!

THIS IS NOT A RELIABLE WI-FI HOTEL. Although on vacation, we own two businesses and need hi-speed Wi-Fi. We constantly had to walk to the lobby to get a connection, then go back to our room, work for awhile, lose a connection, go back to the lobby, et.al. Unbelievable. They shouldn't advertise it. Yes: small pool, just okay bfast, but super location, nice personnel, and very clean. The wi-fi killed us though.

We stayed June of 2007. The view of Pike's Peak in the background was wonderful. It was a quiet location off the freeway. We got lost getting there, but that was probably our fault we found it very quickly after a few minutes. It's located on a road next to/near a packed restaurant. We didn't get to stop here, but from the parking lot it looked good based on the amount of cars packed in there. The walking trail behind the motel along a creek was a very nice bonus to the property. I have one complaint and that is the pool was a huge disappointment. We have kids and it was the smallest pool I have ever seen, it reminded me of the size of a bigger hot tub. The pool was also quite cold. The room was clean and we had no problems. This is a pet friendly hotel but we had no pets, just saw several making their way in with their owners. It's rare to find pet friendly hotels so that was kind of neat even though we didn't need this option on this trip. If the pool isn't impt. the location, staff, and clean economical room made it a worthwhile stay. I don't remember disliking the continental breakfast that many commented poorly on so I'm sure it was in the average/acceptable range and the room it was in was nice as well. Usually I remember if I dislike something ;-).
