“Not a bad place to stay on business travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

I stayed at this hotel multiple times for business travel in Colorado Springs. I sort of became a regular there for a while.
I have stayed at a lot of hotels nearby to this one (Crestwood, Extended Stay, etc) and I found this one to be the best of the "budget" business/extended-stay hotels. While this place doesn't specifically cater to business travelers, I found it suited my needs just fine due to its location.
I never had any issues with the front desk. I had an issue with some hotel points posting once, which I cleared up with Choice Hotels without issue, and they threw in some extra points for my inconvenience.
Breakfast was always okay and on time. Again, I became a regular stayer here because I really didn't have any issues with the accommodations, and the price and location was good for me.
I'd stay here again under a similar circumstance.

“This Comfort Inn is old and needs renovation.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

Rooms were clean, but bed was uncomfortable. Pool is extremely small. Hot tub jets so noisy that you cannot hold a conversation. Nothing in the exercise room was functional. Weight cables were broken. Treadmill did not work. Bicycle electronics did not work. Worst Comfort Inn I've stayed in. (Location is good & staff is friendly.)

“plan on disputing extra charges!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

My wife and I stayed in this lovely facility with the pool that smelled of urine from the front desk. Upon arrival we find out there is only one entrance and that is okay but I have to leave my truck in the side parking lot where it is nice and dark for anyone to do whatever they want with my property. We checked in and then checked out the room and returned with a load of stuff ie. luggage, food from nearby restaurant, extra pillows, extra blanket, stuff like that. Got to the room, ate dinner, went to sleep. Front desk guy was really nice so no problem there. Breakfast was as good as you can expect no problems and all the staff seemed fairly charming as they were all smiles and looked to be enjoying their jobs. We left after breakfast and were relieved to find our vehicle in one piece and had nothing more to say than we would choose a different place next time for lack of usable pool and parking problems. After a week or two my wife is paying my credit card bill and finds an extra, separate $55 charge for who knows what. I call the hotel to inquire and find out I was charged because housekeeping decided we had pets in our room due to the mess of pet hair. I explained we left our pets at home and being only one entrance this would have been noticed. I was informed the manager w not there and I would get a call back on Monday. Well I'm patient and busy because it is now the following Saturday and finally able to take care of it. I almost wonder if it is company policy to throw an extra charge on your card to just find out if it gets a reaction. That is a great way to make a little extra money. I only say this because I filed a complaint to the Choicehotels.com website and got the same response. I was told I would be contacted within 72 hours and of course, nothing. So the easiest way to fix it is to dispute the charge and be done with this hotel chain forever. I am sure there will be no love lost as my wife and I don't get out very often but I thought at least I could help someone else keep from making a bad decision. If you read this entire review thanks for your time. If you skimmed it kiss my butt. Just kidding.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

“not the best, but seems most CO Springs hotels are not updated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Not the best hotel, really does need updating, esp. the AC unit that smelled funny. The pool was a real bummer, super small. The staff was very nice, and the mountain view (some rooms) was awesome. Location was great, easy to get to Garden of the Gods, and Air Force Academy (keep in mind, all visitors must enter the north entrance, not south gate).
I won't stay here again, but it is adequate for a night or 2....but its consistent with about $60 a night room.
Keep in mind, hotels in Colo. Springs are constantly full of tourists and don't renovate often (.maybe a lack of quality construction labor, or the typical Colo. laxidaisical attitude)
