“Good choice for north side/Academy area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

First stay at this property, but have stayed at many Residence Inn properties over the years. Located across the street from Hampton Inn and Suites, but no restaurants or shops within walking distance. Check -in was efficient and friendly. Appreciated the free local papers on hand, in addition standard USA Today. No evening "manager's reception" as they only have it 3 days a week. Room was set up as expected, with a few nice touches: extra towels and kitchen towels were folded into swan heart shapes (maybe due to upcoming holiday?). Interesting, although there were plenty of towels, they were of greatly varying types and qualities. Some were cheap, thinner ones, some had a Hyatt label (?) and some were very nice, high-end, labeled "Made in Israel." types. No standard book in room that gives you info about the area, hotel info, etc. Not an issue for me, as I stay in so many of these. Good sized TV in living room area; standard in bedroom. Bedroom was tight; very narrow around the bed. If a large person happened to be in the room, I think they would have trouble getting around. Not an issue for me. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was standard and adequate. Noticed folks packing lunchboxes/coolers with food from breakfast area. They may wish to deal with that to keep costs under control. Problem with smokers near the front door. Had to walk through a nasty haze to get inside. Need to move smoking area farther away from main door. Other major negative was wet dog smell in elevator, left by a wet dog we had to ride with. Very unpleasant and problematic for person w/dog allergies. If they can fix the smoking and dog issues, I'd stay here again if I need to be on the north end of town and/or near the Acadmey.

“Two weeks in a great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

My husband and I (and our dog) stayed at this hotel for two weeks. We are very picky about which hotels we stay in and we have stayed in Residence Inn Mariott in Miami, FL and Chester, VA, and so we knew that this hotel would be perfect for us and our needs (military on the move).

We loved our one bedroom suite (with a spacious living room and separate bedroom), two TVs, small kitchen, dining table, desk, couch, closet space, and nice vanity. Our hotel room was facing the mountains and for two weeks, we had a wonderful view of the sunrises and sunsets!

This hotel is located in a very nice area (this was also another reason we decided to stay here... safety!). We enjoyed a quick drive to the main shopping areas, restaurants, and the interstate is right next to this hotel (without the extra noise!).

The hotel provided daily breakfast (nothing fancy, but it was satisfying) and also hot dinners, including wine and beer on certain days. We saved lots of money just by eating at this hotel.

The staff was extremely friendly! I reserved this hotel way before we even moved to Colorado and the receptionist was nothing but sweet, informative, and helpful! The check in was smooth, the hotel provided everything we needed, and the check out was very quick.

Our dog also enjoyed her stay at this hotel thanks to the spacious rooms! (The only negative comment I have - which is completely our fault - is that we were placed on the top floor and so far away from the stairs. This made it very inconvenient to take our pet outside as she did not like the elevators. So, if you are planning on staying at this hotel with your pet, be sure to request a bottom floor room or at least one that is close to the stairs). This hotel (and all other Residence Inns that we have stayed in) charges one-time pet fee (whether you stay one day or 14 days) of $75.This is a great deal, especially if you are planning on staying long-term. But... we would pay this fee even if we have stayed a couple of days. This hotel is worth it!

The Air Force Academy is only a couple of minutes of a drive from this hotel and Fort Carson is about 25 min. and so is the Peterson Air Force Base. If you are military, this hotel is especially great for a long term stay and offers a military rate!

I would like to thank the wonderful staff for making us feel right at "home!" We appreciated your attention to detail, great service, clean rooms, and friendliness!

Room Tip: Book a 1-bedroom suite, instead of a studio. - this type of a room offers extra privacy by being abl...

“Always dependable and best place for family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011 via mobile

When you need to treat your family and feel safe, comfortable, and Able to do business this is the best hotel. I've stayed here during the Week. They are across from the US Air Force Academy, near fuel, and the freeway. I was on personal business and felt very safe and they provided everything I needed. Great place.

Excellent place even for a family of 5! We got the 2 bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen for around $100. Very nice place and even a pool for the kids.
