“Junk under my pillow”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

The fact that there was hair all over the floor of the bathroom does not bother me too much as I can put on my slippers but when you find three sticky strips under your pillow with hair in them...now that does bug me. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk agent all I got was `Sorry about that, I`ll talk to my manager`.

“Bedbugs in Room 319”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

We will not be back, bedbugs crawling over our feet and ankles during the night, we finally turned on the lights and nearly died with the fright, we killed several, stayed up all night, complained to the front desk at 7am but were told they didn"t have bedbugs, we must have brought them in with us". we just spent 3 weeks camping and hiking in the Rockies, this was our first night staying in a hotel during all that time. We followed up with their PR office and got a "sorry for your inconvenience" email in response from hotel management, no offer to refund. Beware. this hotel looks nice but don't leave your stuff on the floor and check out the bed from top to bottom before sleeping there.

Room Tip: not room 319

“Great Value Small-ish Hotel”

We really appreciated the fact that this hotel had kitchenettes available. There is a grocery store directly across the way so that you can make a meal for you and your family.
Nice work area and a comfy reclining chair to relax in at the end of a long day of touring Colorado Springs.
Super nice and helpful staff (thank you Rebecca).
Nothing fancy, but a great value.

“Best value in Colorado Springs”

This is a no frills hotel. They only clean the rooms every 5 days. They do have a full fridge, microwave, and small stove. This definately will save people money from eating out. This is one of the cheaper hotels that I could find at $80 a night. You will not have to travel more than 20 minutes to ant major tourist spot. I had no problem with noise. If you want luxury or room cleaned every day, then look elsewhere.

“Bargain price, good area, would stay there again.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

Let me first say that my family was looking for a bargain hotel, with kitchen, and did not need, nor want to pay for amenities like a restaurant, pool, daily maid service, and breakfast buffet. We are also spoiled by our recent stays at the Broadmoor during Christmas time.

Now that I got the disclaimer out of the way, we enjoyed our stay and the price $75/night. The room reasonably clean, spacious, kitchen was stocked with dishes, pans, and other cooking utensils. Lack of maid service was not a problem since you can change out linens or towels when you need them. The even have a vacuum that you can borrow to clean up your mess. The location is excellent and close to restaurants shopping/grocery stores, etc., The area is very safe and upscale.

If you are looking for a vacation stop-off point and are more interested in spending your money on sightseeing and saving money by cooking your own meals then on a pricey hotel that pampers you then definitely stay at Candlewood Suites.

Room Tip: Check out hotels.com, priceline, and other sites to get the best deal.
