We've stayed in 5 different Colorado Springs hotels over the last 18 months....all of them in the 3 Star catagory. This hotel is also a three star, but is better than the others we've stayed in. First, check in was easy and the staff friendly. We got a room with a view to the south, near the train tracks. The room was a suite with a separate bedroom, two tvs, a kitchenette with full size refrigerator, plates, utensils, etc. The bed was a bit firm, but otherwise fine. The walls are thin; not enough to hear conversation, but you knew when they showered. Trains pass the hotel every hour 24/7. They aren't loud, but you can hear/feel the slight rumble as they go by. If you're a light sleeper, get a room away from the east side of the hotel. Frankly, it didn't bother us. The breakfast was quite good. Fruit, yogurt, sausage or bacon, breads, and egg dish, cereals, juices and coffee...all the normal breakfast items. We weren't around for the evening reception, so I can't comment on that. The health club consists of two stationary bikes, an elip trainer, dumbells and two treadmills. Not fancy, but the equipment was in good shape. (Just don't lift a dumbell above your head and take out the fan!) The pool was covered for the winter.
The staff were all very personable. We'd be happy to stay here again.
